In Hathian, the Narrator reads every room for what it is: a city where cops and criminals share the same sidewalks. The encounters here run on friction, authority versus defiance, crew versus crew, and the darker appetites that come out after dark.
Law enforcement
If your character wears a badge, the world may hand you a reason to engage someone nearby, a hunch, a suspicion, a face that does not belong. If your character does not, the reverse: a cop near you might suddenly take an interest, and the reason will feel uncomfortably specific. Standing near a cop in Hathian is never idle time.
Faction encounters
When a member of a rival crew is nearby, the Narrator may give you a reason to care. A stare, a warning, a provocation, a piece of intelligence. It never forces violence, but it puts two people with history between them in the same breath.
Dark encounters in the city
The city’s darkness is fast, sharp, and lit badly on purpose. If you have opted in, the world finds someone whose desires align with yours and sparks a scene that carries the urban register: alleyways, empty parking structures, the back rooms of businesses that close early. The opt-in lives in the Field Manual under Encounters.
Guidance
When you have been idle, the Narrator may pull you toward a place in the city that is alive right now, a bar with people in it, a staffed business, a scene already forming. Follow the pull and you land in the middle of something.
