Community Rules
Ready to step into the story? Whether you’re here for Greek life, athletics, academia, or pure campus drama, this guide will help you get started and play fair in a shared, immersive world.
Community First. Story Always.
- Be Respectful: We’re a collaborative story-first community. Keep the OOC vibes kind.
- No Powergaming/Metagaming: Don’t dictate others’ outcomes. Your character only knows what they’ve seen or been told IC.
- Guns Are Restricted: Keep them off campus.
- Vehicles Require Permits: Limited availability at the gas station in Hathian.
- Human Avatars Only: Domestic pets allowed with animesh. No horses or fantasy species.
Consent & Metagaming Guidelines
- Consent is Implied: Consent is assumed. It’s your responsibility to speak up OOC if you’re uncomfortable with romance, conflict, or major impacts before scenes escalate.
- Speak Up Early: If a scene is heading in a direction you don’t want, communicate OOC immediately rather than letting it continue.
- No Metagaming: Your character only knows what they’ve personally experienced, seen, or been told in-character.
- Separate IC from OOC: Character conflicts should never become player conflicts. Keep drama in-character only.</li
❌ Bad Example: Not Speaking Up
((I really don't want my character to get into this physical fight, but I'll just go along with it and complain about it later.))
✅ Good Example: Taking Responsibility
((Hey, I'm not comfortable with this escalating to a physical fight. Could we have them argue intensely but maybe someone breaks it up or they storm off instead?))
❌ Bad Example: Metagaming Campus Information
/me walks up to the student she's never spoken to before. "I know you're failing three classes and your parents cut off your funding because I saw it on your character profile."
✅ Good Example: Obtaining Info Through RP
/me notices her classmate looking stressed in the library, surrounded by overdue notices. "Rough semester? You look like you could use some coffee and a study buddy."
Campus Roleplay Highlights
- Join Greek Life or a Sports Team Instantly: No waiting. Frats, sororities, cheer squads, and clubs are open to new faces daily.
- Attend or Teach Classes: Faculty-led academic roleplay offers real-time scenes and HUD-registered progress for students.
- Expand Beyond the Campus: Cross into Hathian, the Backwaters, or Port Laveau — your story doesn’t end on the row.
Posting Etiquette
- Write in third person.
- Take turns — one post at a time.
- Begin posts with
/me
to emote actions and dialog. - Use
((double brackets))
for out-of-character (OOC) chatter. - Be considerate: join scenes smoothly and don’t overwhelm with rapid posts.
❌ Bad Example: Powergaming
/me dodges every punch and lands a perfect roundhouse kick, knocking the other student unconscious in one hit.
✅ Good Example: Fair Conflict
/me stumbles back as the punch grazes his cheek. Shaking it off, he lunges forward, aiming a desperate swing at the other student’s ribs.
❌ Bad Example: Multiple Posts
/me grabs her phone. /me walks into the hallway. /me glares at the professor and speaks. "You're late."
✅ Good Example: Single, Combined Post
/me grabs her phone, slipping it into her back pocket as she heads into the hallway. Spotting the professor, she narrows her eyes and mutters, "You're late."
❌ Bad Example: First Person Writing
/me looks at you and says, "I really don’t think you get me. I’m not like the others."
✅ Good Example: Third Person Writing
/me nods slowly, his tone low. "You don’t get it," he said, eyes fixed. "He’s not like the others."
