You do not need a doctorate, a lesson plan, or a straight face. If you have a passion, a strong opinion, or a thing you happen to know, you have a class. Columtreal is looking for instructors, and the bar is exactly this low: pick a topic you would enjoy talking about, and come run a session on it. A one-off is perfect. A recurring workshop is perfect. Whatever your character knows, or pretends to know, the campus wants to hear it.
What counts as a class
Everything. A serious lecture on something you studied for real, a ridiculous how-to, a philosophy you will not shut up about, a trade you practice in real life taught by a character who does it in the world. How to lie convincingly. The art of the perfect cup of coffee. Everything your character knows about revenge. If it would be fun to talk through with a room full of people, it is a class, and you are qualified to teach it. Why bother
Two reasons, and both are selfish in the best way. First, running classes grows your own character; the campus rewards you with progress toward your own story, so teaching is one of the fastest ways to advance while you are at it. Second, you become someone. The instructor who runs the strange, memorable session is the one the campus talks about, the one students seek out, the one who ends up at the center of things. You are not doing anyone a favor. You are building your own legend and lifting the whole campus at the same time.
The simplest classroom you have used
Walk up to a projector, name your topic, and the room does the rest. It dresses itself for your subject, tells the campus where you are, and students arrive on their own. You just have to show up with an idea. And your class does not end when the bell rings: the Vine, the campus gossip that never sleeps, carries what happened out into the world, so a good session keeps echoing long after it ends. Come as a guest
You do not have to commit to a career to teach. Some of the best sessions come from guest instructors who drop in to run one workshop on the thing they love, then return when the mood strikes. If you practice a trade, a craft, or a profession in real life, you already have a class ready to go, and a character who teaches it will find a room waiting. Show up once, see how it feels, and know the door stays open.
Getting in
Becoming an instructor starts with an application and the guidelines behind it. Once approved, you gain teaching access and a place on the roster, and you claim your subject, whatever your character professes. From there the campus treats you as an authority, and your first session is one room and one idea away.
How far it goes
Teach when you feel like it and nothing more is asked of you.
