Encounters on Campus

Greek Row 1 min read Updated Sep 2026

On campus, the Narrator reads the social order. The encounters here run on influence, gossip, academic authority, and Greek life’s gravitational pull.

Faculty encounters

When a professor and a student are nearby, the Narrator may hand one of them a reason to engage the other, a question, a summons, an observation that lands too precisely. It works both ways: students catch reasons to approach professors too.

Vine encounters

When someone the campus has been talking about walks near you, the Narrator may give you a reason to react to their reputation before they have said a word. These reward the players who live loudly, because the louder your name on the Vine, the more often you become the spark for someone else’s scene.

Rush and hazing

Greek life generates its own encounters. Pledges near house members, rival houses in proximity, recruitment moments the Narrator turns into sparks. These carry the arch, knowing register of a campus that treats loyalty as an extracurricular.

Party lures

When a house is throwing a party or a crowd has gathered, the Narrator may pull a bored student toward it. The promise is social, not transactional: a room alive with people and whatever happens when you walk in. The full detail of what happens then is in Parties under Campus Life.

Dark encounters on campus

After hours, the campus goes dark, and the same consent-first matching runs here. The register shifts: dorm rooms, empty lecture halls, the unlit places between buildings. The opt-in lives in the Field Manual under Encounters.
