Your character’s story is a living biography, a dossier being written in real-time by your actions. To help you read and guide this story, we have created two powerful tools: the in-world Character Card for your public identity, and the web-based Character Dashboard for your private analysis. Mastering these is key to understanding your impact on the world.
The In-World Character Card: Your Public Identity
Attached above your avatar’s head, your Character Card is how you and other players see your reputation at a glance. It serves two primary functions: public display and private editing.
Public Features:
- Your Title: The card prominently displays your current, most impactful Role, reflecting your status within the community (e.g., ‘Felon’, ‘Sophomore’, ‘Stalker’). This is the title you present to the world.
- Daily Excerpt: Anyone can click on your card to read the latest narrative summary of your story. This daily excerpt, written by the Narrator AI, is a fantastic conversation starter and allows others to quickly catch up on your character’s recent history.
Private Features: Your Control Panel
Clicking your own card is your primary editing and status tool. Here you can update your character’s core details like their name and age, their appearance, and their crucial desires and notes. This is also where you set your character’s immediate status, toggling between armed and unarmed, or setting yourself as Out-of-Character (OOC).
The information you provide here—especially your Desires and Notes—is read directly by the Narrator AI to craft personalized Encounters and shape how Companion NPCs interact with you. The more detailed and evocative your notes are about your character’s goals, fears, and personality, the richer and more tailored your emergent story will be.
The Character Dashboard: Your Private Rooftop
Accessed via logging into the website with your avatar account, the web-based Character Dashboard is your complete, analytical deep dive into every facet of your character’s life. Here’s what you’ll find:
- The Main Gauges (Your Boosts): The dashboard provides a clear visualization of your Presence Boost and your active Activity Boost (Heat, Thrill, or Spirit). Streak and Homesteader Bonus will also display. These gauges are your primary indicators of progression speed.
- The Soul’s Compass (Inner Anarchy): This is the home of your private psychological profile. You can view the five-point radar chart, read the tooltips for each of the five vitals, and see your “Inner Voice,” a cryptic statement reflecting the dominant force currently driving your character.
- The Path to Legend (Progression Pathways): This detailed infographic shows your current standing in your community’s Pathways. You can see your “true” path, your current Role, and your progress toward the next title.
- Your Public Mask (The “Lock Path” Feature): If your current “true” path doesn’t align with your roleplay, the dashboard is where you can use the Lock Path feature to select any Title you have previously earned and set it as your public-facing identity.
- The Daily Chronicle (Card History): A carousel on the dashboard allows you to read through all your past daily excerpts, providing a running history of your story.
- The Record (Stats & History): For those who want every detail, the dashboard also contains collapsible sections for your complete criminal record, medical history, and any campus-specific rankings.
These tools are your windows into your character’s soul and their place in the world. Check your Dashboard often. Read your daily excerpt. Update your desires. The more you engage with your own story, the more the world will engage with you.
