He had noticed her fascination and mentioned something about it being called 'Laveau' but warned her to not go there. Corruption, crime etcetera. It couldn't be as bad as New Orleans, Baton Rouge, or Hathian. So, her interest made her pin the location on google maps for later use. It was the only thing that made the trip seemingly shorter. The newly bought device she had bought on European soil. A new number, for an old era. Even though, she would link her contacts. Delete her mails, and anything that could trace her back to here. Google apps, deleted and forgotten. Years of photo's down the drain. But, she never had been too focused on lenses.

Which repeated the anecdote about family members unknown to her. She forced a light smile, but her phone sparked more interest to her. She figured, it would keep him busy a little longer. Google and twitter were at least worthy for something. It kept her fairly entertained, until the battery would run out. For now, she turned down the brightness of her screen, closed applications she didn't need and made sure her settings were set on battery saver - while bluetooth was already disconnected. For a second she thought of visiting, once things were sorted - and a regular income, would make her not to worry about the big amount of cash she carried with her, now. She knew it was going to run out - sooner than later. It wasn’t enough to support a luxurious lifestyle, let alone - support her wardrobe or a plane ticket to meet up with her former friend. She twisted her mouth, it was no time to call for favours. She had nothing to return. So she would close the profile, but not without staring at the woman in her bikini in the water. Just checking in, Max had posted more than a month ago. Perhaps she had prepared herself for her return.

She chewed her lip, and pressed the green button to call. But like expected an automatic voice answered her. “This number you trying to reach is disconnected., please try again later.” It had been for years now. Although Max hadn’t attempted to check in for over three years. For a moment she stared at he red letters ‘Delete’ but she couldn’t. It was weird, how a place makes you remember the people so vividly. She almost felt like she could call her name - and suddenly have her appear. But, she had done that years ago. Not after her last attempt where she had U-hauled herself into a relationship. It had been steady for a while, it made her feel vital and young - as long as it lasted. For a while her needs had been met - but like everything in life, it only had been temporarily. It wasn’t the same like it was with the Haifu. They had connected in a way, she never had. She had been close with Mollie, but Mollie.. was… well, Mollie was a lot of things to Max. A former lover, business associate - go to, a friend. After everything they been through. Even after every lie Max once had told - but she wasn’t Jack. At least, no news, meant good news - No ties with Yakuza trailing her, or wanting her dead for letting a good business - bleed out, slowly.
