piper rewellsaidLing-Chi TYPE: MEMBERS: yunyheng resident, FaithTang Resident BACKGROUND: The Yheng family is a well known family in CD, some hate them, many love them. The Yheng ancestry goes back to 1206 A.D. and maybe even before that. In 2009 Ming Yheng was sent to the USA by her father to establish an opium distribution point for this part of the globe. Ming ended up in a town called Deadend and did as she was supposed to do. When an epic flood wiped the town from the map she ( and some members of her family ) moved to another town, Hathian where she continued, with the help of her family (also sent to the US by her father Xiaoxiang Yheng) her not so legal ventures, now including human trafficking, slave trading and more atrocities. The human trafficking and slave trading has been declining over the past years. The Yhengs have acted and will always act from within the shadows of CD's underbelly but now, as their financial status is receding the family had a meeting about their current status in CD. They decided it is time to step away from their ancient traditions and act more boldly by establishing a stronger foothold in town ( think of extortion, kidnappings to revive the human trafficking and slave trading business among others ). Recently Ming has moved from Hathian to Backwater which, as she believes, is the best place to conduct her business from and spread the faction's tentacles over the entire parish, ultimately targeting the entire state of Louisiana for a hostile takeover and rename Louisiana to Mingiana. The Ling-Chi is a criminal faction, based on the structure of Chinese triads, a triad has a rigid, military structure and despite Ming having a rather traditional Chinese state of mind, she will not follow such a fixed gang structure as expected from a faction based on triad tradition I chose this path because a serious IC triad has too many obstacles to be roleplayed properly. UNIQUE: The Yheng family in Hong Kong will -not- fund Ming's 'gang' because she does not keep the tradition of a triad alive. The funding will be done by extortion (racketeering), opium smugglery, human trafficking and slave trading. The Ling-Chi plans to work collaborate with the owner of the motel (Ming's son) concerning slave trading and prostitution. FLAW: Ming herself is an oddity, she has been diagnosed as being extremely bipolar, socially awkward, chaotic, sadistic and disturbingly proud, this cocktail is a recipe for massive fuckups. Her daughter Li Moon is simply wacko. Her son, Mu-Jin is a cruel psychopath. The Yhengs are a family of misfits and massive IC misunderstandings within the faction are expected to happen. POTENTIAL ENEMY: Backwater Motel (collaboration) Barracudas (can go either way, potential enemy or collaborator) Other businesses/groups in Backwater will definitely be approached by the Ling-Chi EXPERIENCE:I have successfully managed several groups and businesses in Deadend and San Carlo ( both sims now closed ). I listen to people and I never assume. Communication is key for me. IDEAS:The Chinese Takeaway in Backwater is owned by Ming and this is the prime location to engage new players, many of them land near the 'restaurant'and Ming is usually sitting outside, this is a perfect opportunity to start a rp scene with new players. Depending on the player's roleplay knowledge I will (if needed) offer suggestions or direct them to a CD mentor. OTHER:Backwater Motel (collaboration) Barracudas (can go either way, potential enemy or collaborator) Other businesses/groups in Backwater will definitely be approached by the Ling-Chi |
