I was recently told by one of the admins to remove a group tag I had created for the land I owned in Devil's Pocket. I was told that "if we let everyone start a group there'd be xyz thousand if groups so you have to have that approved by management" which then he delightfully pointed out was him.

I guess my question is, if I bought land and am paying a tier to the sim, and I have to have a group to deed that land to, shouldn't I, as a land owner, have the option of having a group for the play that happens in my land?

In my case, those of you who do or do not know, I'm housing a small Project Mayhem/Coalition project, and since I am a contributor and locked in, why would I need to have a RP group approved before I use it.

My suggestion is that something about that be included in the Covenant. I would assume if we're encouraged to buy land on the sim that we are encouraged to contribute to the sim and that would mean opening up new roleplay ideas and ways of RP, that would include new groups. If its not, then there should be an application just like joining the sim to ask "what are you going to do with this land" and have it approved or denied at that point.

It would limit the people who start new groups to people who contribute as land owners to the sim and then whomever the council or admin senate or whatever the governing body is could also have an application for an exception to the rule for great RP ideas that fit the sim they own.

To sum up:

1. Land Owners are able to start groups because they are purchasing in to the Sim and expanding opportunities to play (esp in DP, D8, and Vodou).
2. They can do so can be expressed in the Covenant at the time of buying.
3. If this is not the case it should be expressed clearly in the Covenant prior to buying the land (because it might affect the decision to buy)
4. Any non-land owners that want to start groups apply to the admins with whatever stringent huge criteria they feel would control the wayward group creation.
