Sometimes people slip through the cracks. Kay is one of those people.

She was born to a half-korean mother, Eun-Jeong, and her half-hispanic father, Julian. This made her an average American- a mix of a dozen or so nationalities, with no secifically identifiable classification other than 'white'. Her mother was 19 at the time. The three of them lived in low-income housing, just trying their best to get by. It didn't last long though. Her parents were both busted for selling pills when trying to make some extra cash on the side and, before even starting school, young Kay watched her parents get put behind bars.

The girl was inevitably placed into a foster home alongside a bunch of other problem children. A home ran by two parents who only cared for the money from the state; just barely meeting all of the state's low requirements. Things stayed like that for awhile as she grew older, and progressed through the public school system one grade at a time. Though, once she was in highschool, things changed.

Kay was in a bad school district- one of the worst in Baltimore county. It was no surprise then that she fell in with a bad crowd. Her 'friends' pushing her into drinking and drugs. Likely desperate for an escape from her depressing home life. As the years passed things started to spiral until she ran away from her foster home and stopped going to school during her senior year. It was then that her 'friends' abandoned her. Leaving her broke, homeless, and alone before she even knew what hit her.

She was lucky enough to have a couple friends left over which would provide a couch for her to sleep on so she could get up on her feet. She picked up some part time, minimum wage jobs just to have enough to scrape by. Just as things seemed that they may turn out for the best her past caught up with her. The girl's old friends tracking her down with a list of demands which included money she didn't have. So, she had two choices. Either step into the shoes of her biological parents and start selling or run. She did the only thing she knew how to do and got on a bus the next morning with nothing but the clothes on her back..

From there she'd find herself living out of motels, couches, and underpasses. Going from city to city, working odd jobs and just barely scraping by, until her past, or her tendency to make bad decisions would inevitably catch up with her. Forcing her to jump on a bus and skip to the next town. It seemed like, no matter where she want, she was stuck in a cycle of failure.

The girl jumped on a bus in Memphis, and took it straight south towards the southern coast. She hoped to end up in New Oreleans but, a freak storm left her stranded in Hathian with no money to buy another bus ticket out of dodge. Leaving her stuck in the crumbling town for now until she can scrape together enough money to make it to the next big city. Or at least, that seems to be her goals as of late. Only time will tell what the Hathian chapter in her story will be.
