(Sorry for not having an extensive backstory. Jamie really doesn't give a darn about it.)

Compared to others of Hathian, Jamie Portello's life seemed perfect. A rich mother, a sports car, constant bank card filled with money. The luxuries of a whore of a mother, and her new husband, a bastard of a man who didn't care for anything but his new wife. From her 5th birthday, Jamie's life was ripped from her birth father, when he mysteriously left her mother. A week later, Her mother's current parent claimed head of house and cut Jamie from her shelterd life. Jamie struggled without the help of her mother, who turned from jamie suddenly after the dissapearance of her father. Jamie lived as an outcast from her family, and sufferd violence from her new step-father, who constantly hit her. Until Jamie turned 16, she endured his harsh beatings. On her 16th birthday she attempted to defend herself, causing more beatings, that left Jamie in hospital for 3 weeks. Jamie did well in school, besides the constant tourture of her new 'father', althought a week before her graduation, on her 18th birthday, Jamie was woken at 6 am. Her mother packed a bag for her and left it open. Her stepfather threw a wad of cash at her they walked out, her step-father yelling for her to leave. Leaving home at 18, Jamie left with a two bags, and a pile of guilt money. She spent several months couch surfing at various friends and relatives until her welcome was outstayed, and her journey to Hathian began, on the backseat of a musty smelling coach.
