remy-folletsaidTHOUGHTS: Given the recent reports on the HPD, and the citizens unanimnous animosity aimed at the police in Hathian. It would be good to -win hearts and change minds- Of course we are -the bad - guys, I am not trying to change that outlook at all, but more or less remind citizens what happens when the police just plain old refuse to work. You remember that movie "It's a wonderful life" where the guy wishes he was never born and all bad crap happens to people he knows and loves.. It's the same kind of thing, except ...the wish of some citizens is that the pd just didn't exist, because of their brutality, so we grant them that wish for one week only, however the guise is on.... A union strike, sure they are public servants, and they shouldn't strike, it's a bit like robocop when all the cops went on strike. BACKGROUND: This is Hathian, the police are the best equipped unit sure, but their paygrade isn't worth what they usually have to deal with, and their health care basically sucks, risking life and limb to -serve- and -protect- and generally met with outright hostility, they want to negotiate a better deal , with the savage government public spending cuts. Their salary is frozen out of line with inflation, their healthcare package is savagly cut, as is their pension plan. Negotiations between them and the local authority isn't going particularlly well.... so they decide to strike. A one week strike to show the gov and hathian exactly why they need that money. PROPOSAL I propose the HPD go on strike for one week to protest the cuts. Some civilians who just abitarily hate the cops because its the vogue thing to do, may well change their outlook when the week of hell begins. The strike will be announced one week prior to the actual date, giving gangs and criminals plenty of heads up of what's going to happen. BENEFITS The Rejects, Crows, and Phantoms get to flex their gang power a little and abuse the heck out of each other and the good civilians of hathian. Looting, raping, pilliaging, kidnapping, torture, with no worries about having to watch their back and plan carefully... it's a free pass to be bad ass..911 calls to the PD will go unanswered. Hells Saints, get to patrol vigilantly the streets in this absence, trying to stop any crime they encounter with out worry of being busted. The HGH gets a fresh influx of victims. The HPD actually get recognition for their efforts in the past, cuz hell aint ever been so bad as when the cops are on strike... hell public street rapes could occur. The Fire Department will probablly be quite busy too, as they would be during a time of mass civil unrest, and like in the UK riots probablly attacked with out the police there to assist. PICKET LINE The HPD though on strike, would still maintain a presence at the station, gaurding it from damage and such, and do remember a majority of officers are armed these days. They would just not respond to call outs. Some HPD members may feel compelled to try and stop the hellish erruptions that occur, they would be permitted to do so, but not -on duty- if they want to stop the crime wave, it's in a civilian capacity, though they can still carry off duty weapons, hell even duty belt , no uniform, no police vehicle. Really the idea is just to make some pretty intense action before the PD are literally begged to do something... make the civilians yearn for the sound of sirens, and also maybe consider why some of the thugs out there deserve the torture they get in their cells....even hope that the thugs get tortured in their cells. POST STRIKE After the strike, bussiness resumes as normal. HPD go back to taking their rightful place as the Apex gang , and brutally beat down , in riot gear any criminals left on the streets. Much to the relief of the harried citizen. The press might even be forced to -conceed - better the devil you know... Any crimes committed during hell week will likely not be investigated unless it's pretty high order stuff, like for example -murder- Discuss.. really the idea is create hell on earth for one week, an oppurtunity to flex those muscules you had to keep hidden.. it should be a riot , litearlly DISCUSSON It's an idea I had, I'm not really into the planning, but it's just a what if, if someone feels this would be a good idea to take and run with... I know a lot of cop players wouldn't want to strike, but they could still bust heads off duty, they just wouln't get back up expected, and they could also voice their reasons for not wanting to strike ICly, imagine its a department order from the chief, in light of the government cuts.... Several details can be fudged, like the national guard coming into maintain order, well imagine this is happening all over too, and some places like hathian will just be neglected.... Don't want to get into the legal mumbo jumbo of why they wouldn't strike, the -fun rp- aspect takes preceedence over real world stuff, it's a what if scenerio acted out. |
