Hollywood cliche, raised by a B-film, horror & porn director who holds a grudge to woman in a whole, is abusive and volatile -- addicted to cocaine, alcohol and his elusive dreams of a breakthrough film. This relentless pursuit of success only served to deepen the dysfunction within their family and left Bennie to navigate the turmoil of her upbringing.

Studied film, theatre and writing. Dropped out -- was accepted into Berkeley, got pregnant instead. Knew she wasn't ready to become a mother and terminated the pregnancy to buy a van and travel. Been on the road since her early twenties.

Her van (R.I.P, Thank you Hiro & Ana) was her symbol of her newfound freedom and independence.Driven by her wanderlust, she set out to explore the vast landscapes and vibrant communities that lay beyond the confines of her old home.

Hathian is one of those 'vibrant communities' she dabbles in.
