I am relatively newish to Crack Den. Was here years ago with a different Avi. In a recent rp, I was recording officers and saying that as the photos were taken etc, they were going to upload to the cloud, tech that is more than common. Later on, an officer picked up my phone and performed the impossible and erased my phone and cloud in one post claiming that what I was doing was metagaming. How is that metagaming when it's real tech? I had 0 issue saying that part of it was lost due to the videos not having time to upload before the phone was destroyed. Ironically, the most incriminating video would have not made it since it was destroyed minutes after I stopped recording. I worked in cellphone tech for 8 years and would never intentionally metagame. So I propose this.. just like weapons use, tech cloud information being saved takes a certain amount of posts or something. So in order for information to truly be saved, you have to post 2 or 3 times before that original data will be safe.
It also doesn't make sense that I have seen profiles that discuss property security saying their videos auto upload to the cloud. Why one and not the other?
I am never going to ruin a rp by being "super" about it, that's lame. In this scenario though, was I metagaming? Or the cop super hacker that literally hacked into a phone with biometrics, then hacked into encrypted cloud information (the fact is was encrypted was in rp), all in one post? I was told it was "published" but then come to find out it was not published anywhere. I am not going to mention names because there is no need to, so don't ask. I have 0 issues with the person in question.
