The idea was for Chance to return to Hathian in Bebe's care while Haylee remained out of town, at a private boarding school that Chase had made arrangements with. At the time, Bebe was expecting a child of her own.//

// Chance spent most of his young years learning tricks of the trade from his Bloods/Rejects mentors. The boy was being groomed to take over as leader for the gangs at different points of his life. His first run-in with the law was at the age of 8 when, believing himself invincible, the boy attempted to stab the town priest, Alco Gestort. Upon returning home from his first stint in juvenile detention, the boy found that things had changed. His loyalties torn between the Bloods and Rejects, and feeling helpless, he turned to a new gang, "The Stone Street Sluggers". Only 13 years old, Chance sold drugs with the Stone Street Sluggers before finding himself in trouble with a crooked cop, who eventually had the boy selling drugs on the side as well. He was soon arrested for possession, but was able to get off after Chase had a discussion with Captain Taov. He was next arrested at 13 for attacking an employee and vandalizing the XXX shop during an argument with the shop's owner, Stu Canning. At the age of 14, he was caught carrying a gun during a sweep. The charges were dropped, as Chance's family had a way of making the police forget certain offenses. The turning point in Chance's life came when at 14 years of age, during an argument with his girlfriend (Sera Zabelin), an older teen (Drew Dwi) jumped in to defend the girl. In the fight that followed, a gun would go off, the stray bullet hitting Sera. Chance was sent off to Juvenile Detention again, this time for 3 years. He returned to Hathian at the age of 17 and with life-changing news. //

Age 6: Patient's shoulder grazed by bullet in gang-related shootout as he stood by.

Age 6: Patient was beaten by club owner Vic Sparrow after being caught vandalizing the club.

Age 7: Twisted ankle - Patient claims his uncle became angry.

Age 7: Stitches for reportedly self-inflicted cuts on his right forearm. The jagged cuts resembled the word "scum".

Age 8: Found unconscious, beaten and bloody (most of it not his own) in the middle of Hathian’s main road. No details on the incident, but it is believed to have been gang-related. Patient did not speak for a full month after the incident. Received therapy from Hathian General’s Director of Mental Health (which was inexplicably cut short by the patient’s family).
