sabrina morningstarsaidHouse of the Morningstar By djinrah resident TYPE: MEMBERS: djinrah resident, lidia blackheart BACKGROUND: Gin Crow (djinrah resident) was the child of a zealous Catholic woman and a devout militaristic Muslim, who were each abusive in their own ways. His experiences in having such parentage were confusing for a young mind and homelife in England was rarely without conflict. In his early teenage years, he would rebel in the ways teenagers did, but he became fixated on Satanism and the occult. When he was of age, he joined the military and spent ten years serving England's Royal Navy. In that time, he earned a master's degree in chemistry and continued to explore his spirituality. Following his ten years of service to his country, Gin would meet who was to be his wife while visiting his brother, whom he'd been separated from at a very young age, in California, US, a long way from home. His wife's family was from Louisiana and he'd move to the Bayou with her, where he began his career at a civil servant at the Hathian Police Department in earnest. It wasn't fulfilling work, leaving the man with a void desperate to be filled. He needed to be doing somethin with purpose. Gin's wife's family had been neck deep in voodoo culture for generations, which had reawakened the man's interest in the occult, something he'd long since waved off as just part of a teenage phase. The more he read into it, the more he began to lean into a real system of beliefs. Voodoo wasn't for him, but it was the conduit that led him back to his youthful interests from long ago. Satanism was the way. While still working for the HPD, Gin needed a way to start making a real income in order to finance his dream of cultivating a community based on Satanic and occult principles. Though he did have a sizeable savings, it would not be a sustainable backbone for his vision. With access to certain pharmaceuticals through his law enforcement and medical connections, in conjunction with his hard earned but never used master's degree, he began to experiment with creating his own designer drugs. His hallucinogenic, euphoria inducing, highly addictive product he created was a success. He was able to distribute a large enough amount of the product he called 'wet dream' to begin funding his church and slowly accumulating members to his congregation. The success of his designer products were so successful that he was able to quit his vocation as a law enforcement officer entirely and really begin his focus on what was important; Leading the lost to true spiritual salvation through the tenets of Satanism. UNIQUE: I (Gin) have land in Batterie which is home to the physical Satanic church, called House of the Morningstar, which also has a skybox which is meant to be a warehouse floor in some undisclosed location where Gin cooks his drugs. In Laveau, I have a house that is a designated traphouse, 'Laveau House #301. It is meant to be where anyone can come and go to buy drugs and engage in other illicit activities. As far as an ACTUAL business front, like a bar, or a shop or something like that in Laveau, that has not been discussed or discerned yet. I would love to eventually pick something up as a front to be more engaging with the community as a whole. One of the biggest issues I've seen with gangs/groups is that wherever the gang tends as their base, other people don't seem to really feel welcome. I thought the traphouse idea was a good place for anyone who just wants to hang out, drink, smoke, whatever, but a local business where anyone can find a reason to be would be even better. I'm definitely open to ideas and collaborations. My whole point in sharing parts of Gin's background and expanding on it is to be more inclusive with the community as a whole. I love RPing with new people and finding new leads to roll off of, letting stories go wherever they may lead. Satanists are 100% advocates of hedonism of any kind, though one of their strongest tenets is that the freedom of others should be respected and upheld. They would not be involved in human trafficking of any kind, but Gin's people are all about the drug trade. Of course, they could be very persuasive in enlisting others to their cause when there are psychoactive drugs involved. 😉 FLAW: Obviously, not everyone is going to get behind a Satanic cult. They will likely be targeted by law enforcement and other groups simply because of their belief system. POTENTIAL ENEMY: Anyone and everyone! As any successful cult would agree, the more the merrier! As of now, we don't have any set collaborations planned with other groups or businesses, but Laveau is still getting it's footing as a community. I hope to spend time at the Casino, the porn shop, and various other establishments in the pursuit of hedonistic pleasures. Right now we only have a few people on board, but I've heard a lot of positive feedback from people saying they WOULD join a Satanic cult! If approved, I expect IC recruitment to go pretty well! EXPERIENCE:I've been roleplaying for about fifteen years now. I first started on Guild Wars 2 with a character of the same name, Gin Crow, and was involved in the leadership of a 400+ person guild of active RPers. We had a strict attendance and activity system in place (one that I do not care to implement ever again), but I am well versed in group management. That particular guild was active and successful for over six concurrent years, until Guild Wars 2 RP began to dissipate from the MMO entirely. I moved over to Black Desert Online, where I was the leader of another successful and active RP guild, which stayed afloat for about another five years. I like to think myself a good listener and mediator. We all make mistakes, I haven't always made the right choices or said the right things, but I do know how to carry myself with tact, especially when it is expected in any community leadership role. IDEAS:My absolute favorite thing about RP is that there is always the possibility of being surprised by interacting with someone who blindsides you with something awesome. I love RPing with new people for this reason, you never know what to expect from someone you never met. I've always been enthusiastic about being out there and engaging with the community. I'm not the type to prefer sequestering myself and my RP away in privacy. Strangers are always welcome to RP with me and I've never liked cliquey groups or mindsets. I've been very vocal about this to a lot of different people and I think just throwing out a simple invitation here really goes far. I'd love to create events, like throwing house parties where anyone looking for RP is invited. I think that'd be a lot of fun, especially in Laveau. The environment looks great for it! OTHER:Anyone and everyone! As any successful cult would agree, the more the merrier!
