BACKGROUND: The XXX Shop presents a unique set of challenges given that a portion of the business' core appeal, pornography, has been hijacked by ubiquitous access to adult entertainment via the Internet. As such it is important to find ways to add extra depth to the role-play opportunities that can arise from this business. Consequently I would take this business in the direction of being a crack house of sorts, beneath the facade of the adult shop lies the dark underbelly of drug addiction, the building provides spaces for people to immediately get their fix, using either the upstairs room or the basement, unable to wait to get home in order to scratch their itch. Selling heroin and crack cocaine, this will also provide ample opportunity to take advantage of said addictions, where those unable to fund their habits through the medium of cash can do so with their bodies, preying on people who don't necessarily want to be amateur porn stars, but desperation drives them to do whatever it takes to get that next fix, whether it's a solo performance, a fellow customer, as long as they can crawl into the corner and escape the reality of their grim lives, that is all that matters. Only to return to the store and see their efforts for sale on the shelves. It is by aim to have the business taking advantage of the desperation and poverty that underpins many characters stories, buckets in the corners as toilets, dirty mattresses, broken dreams. The intention is to provide a location that will facilitate gritty and wretched storylines for those who want to play out the dire consequences of addiction. Hopefully will also encourage people to commit petty crimes to pay for their drugs, and encapsulate the hopelessness that weighs heavily upon many citizens of Hathian.

UNIQUE: Hopefully the business will develop a reputation as being one of the dirtiest and most despicable in CD, through both the characters that will frequently visit the business as well as the exploitation of customers. The veil between the sex shop front of the business and what happens behind those red curtains leading either up or down the stairs will be thin.

EXPERIENCE: I have had experience running a couple of businesses on other role-playing sims and as such can appreciate the need to create an inclusive environment for all staff members say that they feel a part of the group. Also by having a strong vision for the business there will be the opportunity to collaborate on ideas that fit with, and expand upon the core ideas.

IDEAS: The intention will be to maintain a strong presence so that any new players who are interested in developing their stories through the business will be easily able to do so. In terms of new staff members, I would reach out to people who sign up and bridge the gap between an initial ooc contact and something like an ic interview in order to get the ball rolling.
