[b]GROUP NAME:[/b] Sacré Brew

BACKSTORY: ICly, the café is the attempt of a former Hathianite to regain some footing in the city and rebuild (or rather, replace) the life she'd once known here. A one-time gang member, Dee knows the good and the bad of the city. So, she finds a shop right in the middle of all the grime and the crime and decides to create something nice there: a cozy, chill haven. Personally, my agenda is to provide some variety a new rp location. The concept is familiar, but just different enough to not be yet more of the same (see below).

UNIQUE: While the DG is a great existing coffee shop, Sacré Brew will specialize in not only coffee but also a variety of teas and other refreshments. I imagine it will have a borderline new-agey, hipster vibe, probably attracting students from CU and the artists of Hathian. Its focus will be to promote an atmosphere of drama-free nonviolence, despite its location next to a strip club and bar. The contrast should be interesting, to say the least. Possible events/role play ideas include: - Singer/songwriter nights (it would be great to have some recurring characters appearing at these--talented and not so talented, for laughs) - Keeping a few "special" tea blends behind the counter for those who really want to relax, because dry green leaves make such good camouflage! This could lead to the occasional PD inspection or bust. - CU study groups could meet here. Making this a regular hangout for a group of "Friends" could really build a sense of "Community". (Clearly I've been watching too many sitcoms lately, but I hope you get the idea 😉 - When time and space provide, I would love to ICly host some yoga classes in the shop. There appears to be a second floor in the building, so perhaps upstairs could work.

EXP:I have played at CD off and on over the years and I think I've developed a good understanding of the sim and its players. I once ran my own sim, and know what it's like to be in a leadership position. Conflict resolution, professionalism, and understanding are all important to me and also qualities I believe I possess. I am a great listener, empathetic, and open-minded, but can be firm when necessary. At the end of the day, we are here to have fun--not to be the best, win a game, or be the most popular. Knowing this will help me be an effective leader.

IDEAS:IC: Ongoing story lines, a sense of familiarity with a regular haunt. This will enhance immersion and give players are more realistic experience. While it's not my intention to clean up Hathian at all, providing a location that's just a little different will mix things up a bit and offer a new option that is still very much a part of the city. OOC: I will offer new and old players jobs that I hope they will enjoy, and will be an active leader who engages my group members on a regular basis. Communication is very important to me, and people will always know how and when they can contact me and expect a timely response.
