BACKGROUND: The Neon Lotus already stands out amongst all the other bars and clubs in Laveau. It's the only one of it's kind–a sake bar. What it needs is someone to take the reins and direct it in the right way. It is unique and needs someone behind the wheel that understands that and wants to let her neon glow shine bright. The Neon Lotus fits Carl's personality as a character. It's quiet, unassuming, and tucked away from prying eyes. It offers the facade of just another bar, one serving sakes instead of your typical whiskeys and wines. An odd one. But under the surface there's much more going on than meets the eye. Events: I would like to host weekly/themed events like sake and food pairing events, tasting nights, watch parties, jazz nights, "Masquerade Nights," where patrons are encouraged to wear masks, adding a layer of anonymity and intrigue. These events would serve both to enhance the experience for existing patrons and create opportunities for new characters to get involved.

UNIQUE: What sets the Neon Lotus apart from other bars is its dual nature—a quiet, unassuming façade that hides a world of intrigue and opportunity. On the surface, it’s a sophisticated, almost serene escape from the chaos of the city, with an exclusive selection of rare, exotic sake that can’t be found anywhere else. On top of that, I'd like to expand on more shady activities, and given the quietly tucked away, hidden location of the Neon Lotus, it makes it an almost perfect place for shady deals and favors exchanged under the table. The Neon Lotus isn’t just a place to drink; it’s an experience—it caters to more than just the criminals; it also serves as a tourist attraction bringing curious travelers and first time visitors to Laveau. I want to turn it into active hub for RP that draws characters in—both new and old and act as a place to make connections. The Neon Lotus wouldn’t just be known for its drinks but for the whispers that pass between the shadows of its walls.

EXPERIENCE: This would be my first time managing a business on any sim, but I am committed to learning and am open to communicating and making sure everyone enjoys the stories. What I bring to the table is a willingness to communicate and work with others, and a passion for creativity and storytelling. I’m always open to suggestions and feedback. see this opportunity as a chance to bring those passions into a tangible form.

IDEAS: I would like to plan and host events that engage other players that sign up to work at the Neon Lotus. Probably start small, host one or two events a month to get a feel for things, and build from there if it generates interest. Events are an easy way for new players to sink their feet into the stories and get to know other players and find people to RP with. I am relatively new to RPing myself and still learning and growing as a player, and when I first arrived in CD, I didn't know or have anyone to RP with. At times it got a little slow and boring especially without any stories. I believe events would give an easy way in for those that are new to make connections. I'm also open to discussing how the Lotus can work with businesses that aren't directly in the food business like the Den and the Casino. To help new players that sign up to work at the business, I have been reading up and doing a lot of research on sakes and different types of it, brewing methods, processes. I will compile all of that information in a short card, as a summary and hand it out to new employees and encourage them to read up on it in their spare time, to stay on theme of the Neon Lotus being a Sake bar.

OTHER: Re-Opening Event: "Sake & Spirits: A Paranormal Pour Party" An immersive experience where guests are invited to explore the mysteries of the unseen world, guided by a sake list inspired by yokai, the spirits of Japanese folklore. The night promises not just unique sake pairings, but an invitation to embrace the unknown, with tarot readings. Whether you're here for the drink, the mystery, or to see what the spirits have in store for you, the Neon Lotus is ready to awaken the unseen forces that linger in the dark. Each sake flight named after a yokai (Japanese spirit/creature)—playfully creepy descriptions. Tarot reader in a dim-lit corner or “sake seer” giving tarot readings for those brave enough. The night isn't just about the drinks/sake though. There would also be food stalls/a food market with dishes from different cuisines, paired with a sake flight that complements the taste.
