If you go over to Discord and check out the Dark Web section, you'll see a post from Zofia Lewandowska about a secret organization looking for someone to hunt down "test subjects", offering money for their capture.

I was one of those test subjects and I want to share my experience.

tldr: I really enjoyed it, and appreciated Zofia's communication, willingness to be flexible, and always keeping my wishes (and limits) for my character in mind. The experience was collaborative and if you don't mind RP that can get dark at times - but never out of your control as an RPer - I highly recommend it!

I'm writing this post because I don't usually do dark RP. Well you're in Hathian, Stacy, what did you expect? Fair point, but there's plenty to do in Crack Den without getting into the super dark places. But when I saw the post on Discord from Zofia, I thought it was time Stacy (and me) got some experience in that area.

If you're like me, maybe you're curious about darker scenes but hesitant to try them. But after reaching out to Zofia and getting a general idea of the experience to come, I was encouraged. She asked me my preferences, limits, and interests. Given a situation where Stacy would be held and "experiments would be done" on her, I could have just said, sure let's just see what happens, I guess.

But I do have limits. I don't want to be killed. I don't want permanent scarring or injury. I am okay with sexual abuse, even rape, if the story makes sense. I started to think of ideas that fit and interested me, and Zofia invited me to share them in a notecard, so I brainstormed "fun" (evil) things that could be done to Stacy. My assumption was they would be used maybe as ideas or as inspiration, and that Zofia would ultimately do her own thing. What actually took place was Zofia built upon what I gave her, using some of my ideas, some of her own, and we improvised along with the way.

I never knew during my scenes exactly what to expect, but if I did worry where things might go, I would ask in IM. Zofia always let me know without spoiling anything that my limits would be kept intact.

Zofia asked if I could be available for 2 days, where we'd end up RPing in scenes for a few hours and then take a break. I volunteered for longer because I thought, if I was going to this, I might as well make the most of it. I committed to 4 days - Monday to Friday. One of the days, we only met briefly as we were both busy with other commitments, but Zofia was open about this, so I was never left wondering what was going on. Then again, I also ask a lot of questions, but she answered all of them.

Zofia came up with a great climax to Stacy's story, and we both separately came up with the same idea on how Stacy would be released/return. I was able to contact other friends in advance and ask for their help with the big return scene, and it all happened perfectly.

Side note: I also want to thank the wonderful Acland Carriére, who was involved in my story at one point. I highly recommend RPing with him!

So why did I share this experience?

I want to thank Zofia (and any helpers she had) for putting together a great experience. The subject matter and dark tones may not be for everyone, and that's okay. But if you have an interest in trying a new kind of RP, you may find it as challenging and refreshing as I did.

And I also think it's important to shout out people who are doing great work in the CD community. I don't know everyone here, I've only been around for 2 months, in fact. But I know I'll bump into more of you and have scenes from serving up drinks to potentially running for my life alongside you soon.

In writing this recap, I didn't want to spoil anything, and if Zofia pops in, she may have more to say, but by all means, throw yourself into the danger and you may discover you have some new skills and lore to refine your character and experience.
