liberty4us residentsaidLily Bertini, 23, grew up on a farm as the second oldest of 7 siblings. Her childhood was shaped by her parents' compulsively relaxed hippie lifestyle and their marijuana consumption. After graduating from Waldorf School, she moved to Germany to study computer science. The culture shock was enormous for her. The many people, hectic pace, noise, bad air - it was all a big change for her. After all, she had spent most of the last few years in a basement. Maybe that's why she joined a large hacker community, so that she could spend more time in front of a screen in peace again. It is not known exactly why she dropped everything after about two years and applied for a student exchange program, although she was actually no longer a student at the time and therefore would not have been eligible for a place on the program. Nevertheless, her name was drawn and so she can now study here at Columtreal University. Apart from programming, her main interests are philosophy and literature. Because of the latter, she may also have an unhealthy soft spot for - often talentless - up-and-coming writers. Apart from that, she likes to try whiskey from time to time, when she can get really philosophical. She recently found a small, slightly run-down apartment in Hathian and is in the process of finding her way around the area. She has also taken on a temporary job at the Bleu Wag Bistro, which she really enjoys. Only the piles of books on the counter there continue to amaze her. She has already tried to tidy them up without success. Lily is determined to gain new impressions and experiences here and quickly learn the culture and language of Hathian. She is generally very cheerful and outgoing, but the language barrier can sometimes make her seem a little shy. But this is by no means the case. |
