AnonymoussaidThe following is basically the vanilla transcript submitted to Nadir for review without any edits at the moment. Hendrich will be advising the revision and it will be updated as the days go, however, I ask that you provide your criticism, good or bad but within reason. We're here, as a group, striving for a consensus in rules etc, and functionality, not civil war. Thanks! Quote:

PROPOSAL BY: Mathaiyus Resident GROUP NAME: Special Actions Unit FORUM ID:Vacantghost MEMBERS: Sarah Carlucci, Adammcbain Stratten, Aylin Davidov, Brooklyn Manamiko, Lelouch, Liz Utherwurldly, Jacob Black BACKSTORY: "In a town like this, you don't have rights, you have privileges" - Linus the Jackal Linus Hans Desmond, since his relocation to Hathian and his brief tenure with the Hathian Police Department, he had managed to more or less, garner an impression amongst the community. Whether it'd be the filth that plagues its streets or what Hathian considers as its most sociable elite, they had most likely seen the man with his badge, dishing out a fast delivery of street-level justice. But with all that hustle, he hadn't lost sight of what he was here for; and that was to sell his remaining cache of contraband and move on. But things change, and they did in his case, quite drastically. As he fumbled through the reams of paper work and criminal files, scanning each name and felony as if auditing for the most suitable candidate to front his wares, he came across an entire data bank regarding local gang presence and their modus operandi. Their turf, police tolerance/leniency as well as in come, the richer ones, was part of the listing. Money wasn't a problem for Linus, his history had rooted him in several backdrops where the rich and their franklins were but a trigger pull away and if anything, Linus was more than trigger happy. He wasn't exactly a gang banger, rather a, let's just put it this way, he was one hell of a gentleman. Noblesse oblige, oui? Before we continue however, the idea he later submitted to Hendrich Andel as a formal prospectus stemmed from his service time with the military, SEAL team 3, Squadron A, first action/response or, to their mates, 'The Deaf -fuckin- Mutes.' To the 10 mongrels of the squad, brotherhood was everything, through weeks, months and years of fighting, death and destruction, they didn't have their families for consolation or solace, all they had was their guns and each other. They were 'deaf' because they listened to none, except Desmond and they were mute because, well murder and chaos was a hobby best done in silence. SEAL team 3, Squadron A were known for their hyper lethality and later, for the biggest tragedy and cover up of the United States military. When the United States Department of Defense received possible intelligence regarding a terrorist summit of various illegal organisations involving the Neo Al-Qaeda, they feared the possibility of another 9/11. Under the consent of the president, an experimental chemical known as 'Jacob's Ladder' was released in the ventilation system of Squad A's briefing facility. DARPA failed to mention how unstable the biomolecular construct of the chemical was before the President signed the papers. It was a drug that was designed to amplify the primitive instincts that governed anger and fight in males, said to be temporary and 'safe for use' as it was released, unbeknownst to the operators. The mission was listed as suicidal and all 10 operators were by then, under the authority of homeland security, legally deceased with military honors. They weren't supposed to come back. 40 minutes after tactical insertion, the area of operations and the secrecy of SEAL presence was already compromised, the AT Gunner, Koillecker went berserk, and true to their name, he wouldn't listen and not a word was spoken as he succumbed to blood lust. One by one, with utter disregard of their own safety and health, they charged in, both practiced and jagged, feral to the bone, they ripped and tore and they ate off their enemies. It was said the terrorists themselves were struck with fear as they yelled to their gods, oh what monsters have they been cursed with. And monsters they were. But the tragedy was in the slaughter of the entire team, or what was left of it when the impossible was accomplished. Desmond, with two pistols, shot all five of the remaining operators in the head with a malevolent rictus plastered all over his face. His head was blank, and there was no guilt, just silence and a lasting urge to drown in an abyss of nothing. The government knew one walked away when only 9 bodies were recovered, and all but one of hundreds of terrorists lived to tell them, "The jackal left." But yes, the scattered gangs and the troubled economic climate that loomed the Hathian scope had provided Linus with a new perspective of life, and that was a complete take over. Perhaps we should visit Linus's rather decorated life after the disaster that was, well, the massacre let's just put it. - 5 years after discharge (Excerpt from background NC), Linus had just left Boston with 300 million dollars deposited in multiple bank accounts and before he got into his car, burnt his black amex. "Cunts." he'd curse as he chewed on the butt of his cigar, fixing the collar of his 60,000 dollar Yves Saint Laurent tailor suit. He torched the head quarters of his former employers, a lucrative business dealing in hits and drugs with one left, down at Black Water. True to the nature of the Deaf Mutes, well, against ridiculous adversity and sense itself, drove down and shot the 68 year old pimp in the face, in broad daylight. He got a call, moments afterwards from an old, childhood friend of his, Gabby Perdide who had just left a place called Hathian with a big bust of 'easy' cash, telling him, "Desmond, if you need a place to sell all the whites, ain't no place riper than the Den." Didn't take much more to guess where he was headed next. Dumping his clothes and finer luxuries, he met Gabby right by the Missisipi to pick up a few numbers and contacts from the Den, a few photographs, scandalous perhaps, well to those whom it may concern and a top tip, "Join the HPD." Why? Because business is so much easier when you're doing it on the right side of the law. And then, it was simple ethics and social philosophy, if you're not a friend, you get paid, if you're a friend, you get paid. In the rancid pits of Hathian, nothing was ridiculous. Jacob's Ladder never wore off, and what better way to use it's advantages than being under the protection of the badge? Basically, he screwed with a lot kingpins and read a few books written by Mr. Buffet, it wasn't rocket science. But so came The Desmond Foundation, an official proxy for his 'investor-esque' business activities such as, the clearing, revitalization, polishing and the establishing of multiple assets, local departments and existing, but derelict buildings such as The Brooke's Institution. Before the writing and finalizing of the prospectus, his funds had found their way into multiple pockets of different local moguls as well as owning a good part of Hathian in it's entirety. He had a solid backbone to push with whatever was coming next, and that was The Special Actions Unit. It was a new playground all together, and he just couldn't wait to dive in. UNIQUE: For starters, it isn't a gang rather an independent entity operating under the HPD whilst being privately funded by The Desmond Foundation and it's partners. The Special Actions Unit is set up so it resembles something of a privatized 'law enforcement' team, staffed by 'Hathian's Worst.' Makes way for more explicit 'corrupt cop' roleplay. We have our own headquarters, OOCly designed so that those who wish to pursue a career as a good cop and those who don't, don't end up with needless and unnecessary conflicts on a day to day basis. To each their own unless something 'huge' happens. We also have multiple facilities that cultivate marijuana and the likes, we have literal crack and meth dens and whatever the hell not so gangs won't have to always NPC their suppliers and for those who are adventurous, sneak in a deal or two with the local 911. The SAU wants to serve as the 'tipping factor' in any major conflict within Hathian, they are a buyable ally so go figure! Any others will be provided upon feedback and questioning, thank you! EXP:I used to run a collection of RP sims that closed when I took a break from Second Life late last year. I've taken up leadership positions in ColA (The Collective), Gor, Midian City, Perdition and organised events, groups and etc in RP communities like Llorkh, Doomed Ship and a multitude of other RP sims. IDEAS:As a player, I've decided to give back to the community I have fell in love with by the establishing and furnishing of multiple RP locations. We have plenty of places that require staffing, a hobo compound, boxing areas and all that snazzy, good stuff. As for RP wise, like said, we're here to mix things up like all the other gangs are, but with the twist of the HPD and the Evidence Storage. Not only that, we're here to take corrupt cop RP to a whole new level so that the typical hathianite doesn't get the same treatment over and over. We can be more specific through further questioning and feedback! OTHER:The credibility and the 'fair play' of the group is most definitely able to be substantiated by our prospect members who aren't only established characters of the Den, but outstanding members of the OOC community. |
