BACKGROUND: Hathian is in desperate need for a safe place for those vulnerable and displaced in the city, the shelter will focus on LGBTQ+ & Women ((But no youth, due to the potential dark nature of this RP)) It will provide short term accommodation, food, coffee & shelter from the streets. A counselor will be available ((Aaron + with hope, other counselors willing to dedicate time)) for those needing support & as the shelter grows, we would hope to engage & link players to lawyers and social services (i.e. by providing business cards to connect players to each other) - A noticeboard could have flyers advertising different services for help and support. We plan to engage the community by having volunteers - Anything from doctors visits (free check-ups) through to food donations from local businesses & general volunteering (People can come clean, cook, cut hair, support, counseling, legal advice) In addition: We welcome anyone to stay at the shelter, work or RP! It will be a great place to hide from HPD, or if you can't go home to the husband, or you simply have nowhere else to be. We welcome gang RP in them muscling the charity for their own nefarious purposes. We welcome crime RP in them taking advantage of the vulnerable at the shelter. We welcome HPD with the potential for them to raid those staying in the shelter for outstanding warrants/arrest them on false vagrancy offenses. We believe this will also fuel roleplay as HPD could get involved with conditions of parole including community service hours ((i.e. log 10 hours at the shelter or be arrested again, this could be cleaning, making meals etc etc, etc!)) We will run a ‘Men’s Change’ Behaviour program and intense program for men which aims for them to stop using violence in the home, and counsel to develop nurturing relationships with their partners and children. This could be part of their parole conditions issues by HpD and attendance would need to be signed off by one of the support workers at the charity. LASTLY If granted permission to open and run, we would hold an opening event on OCTOBER 3RD @ 12AM - SLT - Euro / Australasia themed timed event "The great sleep out on Bourbon" (tbc) Sleepover themed, BYO sleeping bag. Beanbags, blankets, sleeping backs, a couch or two with coffee tables to chill at. 2 food trucks, one selling soup, on selling coffee (will ask Grind to contribute) Acoustic music set - after speeches @ 1am - Confirmed Loz + Band Fundraising/Sponsorship from businesses + locals. Goal: 20k raised to open the shelter (IC). We would like to set up, various boards and information with RL stats/charities to raise actual RL awareness also of how people can help.

EXPERIENCE: Aaron & I have been RPing this plan and storyline for a long time, it is a big part of our plot and for that reason we want to be more inclusive to bring in other members of the community The city has a lot of dark opportunities RP, this is a small slice of good, in a dark work, it is missing from Hathian, which is why we believe it is needed.
