Though Kohana was shipped off to boarding school in Australia, away from her lavish but suffocating home in Japan, it didn't stop her mother from finding any excuse in the book to terrorize her and her older brother. Verbal, physical, emotional abuse were all on the table when the matriarch deemed her children less than perfect. When Kohana was 16 her brother decided he had finally had enough and on the day of his 21st brithday he snuck the two out of the country and off to the US, thankful the family's political ties made it easier to get the pair visas. The two took odd jobs where they could, though her brother was adamant she try to finish her schooling.

The two eventually ended up in Hathian mere months ago. Trying to stay lowkey was easy enough until the girl turned 21 and seemed gain some ability to get herself into trouble more often than not.
