shaei residentsaidSo given the character background, Quinn (Layne) is a prostitute. When I'm not working at the TT and using the bartender tag, I tend to wander around sim with the Hooker tag up, because well, that's what she is. So my question is this, because sometimes I get the feeling this is happening, but maybe it's just perception. Do people avoid characters that have the hooker tag because of tag reading? Is there some sort of assumption (with merit or otherwise) that RPing with someone with the hooker tag is going to lead immediately to sex, or that sex is automatically expected? On an OOC level I would hope that, unless Quinn is dressed the part or people know that particular detail about her, the tag reading wouldn't be weighed into whether or not people approach for RP. The unfortunate reality is that tag reading happens a lot, intentionally or otherwise, and that can weigh into whether you want to RP with someone or not. I feel like this really causes a lot of potentially missed opportunities for just general story building. I guess I am in something of a rut lately. If I want to RP, I feel as if generally I have to be the one approaching others for RP (a sincere thank you to those of you who have approached me first instead). But chasing RP gets a little exhausting at times, especially when you walk up to someone and they bail right before a post gets out or even sometimes after. Maybe I'm in a bit of a funk tonight because this happened four times today alone, but I'm really wondering if having the Hooker tag up is an issue. I really want to RP! I love to write. I just don't want to spend five hours trying to chase down a decent (or any) scene or, alternatively, hope that one comes to me. |
