Hi everybody,

It's been a week since I join an after visit the town, RP with people etc ... I actually came with some ideas. Hope this is gonna help.

As I visit Hathian as a newcomer, I can see that the people I IM with are great but actually, the hard thing too do is the IC part. All the characters I run into have already a deep complex story going on, so for a newcomer it can be pretty hard to follow who is doing what, what happened to who etc ... An other thing I noticed, meeting other newcomers, is that they also have sometime the same problem to participate in a RP who is already pretty complex and running for a long time. This could be discouraging. My character is not pretty shy so she have no problem jumping in a conversation as she want to be the center of attention but not all characters are like that. So this give me and idea.

Maybe we should try to "zone" the action, if I can say it like that. Let me explain.

All players are looking for different things in RP so why not try to create specific area for that. Let say we keep the center as a general RP zone, maybe centered on Lou's bar and the Grind. Here, the RP could be as it already is. Then, we say Bourbon Street in a Consensual Sex Zone, for those who just want to start a sex RP. Then we say The Harbor is the Hardcore Zone, with horny sailors, smuggling etc ... A zone for Rape/BDSM/Thief/Assault RP. Then on the main street, around the theater we say it's Kid friendly Zone where you can go and enjoy a movie with your kid, take them for a burger etc ... Let say the beach is the Romantic Zone where you can just go enjoy a sunset with your lover etc ... You see where I'm going with this.

Let say a newcomer arrive, his character want to start a gang, sell drugs etc ... It's gonna take some time for him to learn who doing what, what gang are here etc ... So with this "zoning" system he can still have some action until he's familiar with who's doing what, what gang are here etc ... Let say, after some RP, he just want to go, start a fight to try to show there is a new king on the street. He just go to the hardcore zone, find a other player who is already there, then RP his fight, and when his done, he can go back to "normal" RP. He got some action and then he can take some time to learn a little more about the city.

And maybe doing the same thing at the CU. The laundry is the Sex Zone, The cafes are the Romantic Zone etc ...

I don't know if I explained the idea clearly enough (sorry, english is not my native language). With some kind of zoning system, maybe we can avoid newcomers from being discouraged.

So let me just know what do you think about it. Kiss. 😉
