Delta Delta Delta is a sorority for the doers at CU. They promote sisterhood, integrity and strength before anything else. Encouraging their members to take part in clubs, and activities on campus. And most importantly: organize the best parties there are.
Rivalries are nothing to shy away from, especially as competition is something that should be embraced. However, every Delta is a sister, and when shoves come to push against an outsider, then those rivalries are to be put aside. There is no bigger crime than to be disloyal to another sister, and not helping can lead to severe punishment.

The work ethic is that every sister in Delta needs to pull her own weight, which does mean that usually the pledges have to work a little harder here and there, as they are the ones to prove themselves. Be it with their studies, cleaning the sorority house, or helping out with the many activities of the Delta, like the Boxing or Chess Club.

The sorority finances itself and the house, through selling alcohol on events, as well as weed, and last but not least take a solid $20 from every fraternity boy that comes to one of their parties.

The Odyssey, or the seven challenges of growing up to become a Sister:

The path of every sister within the sorority is like the Odyssey itself. Each and every station of the journey follows the path of the Greek myths and heroes of Homer's Odyssey in a loose manner.
While every pledge, as well as every Sister got to put their sweat into the sorority, the Odyssey is first and foremost meant to be an exciting, and fun journey. None of the tasks is supposed to be punishment.

[Joining the sisterhood]

Any female that studies at CU can join the sorority by simple application. There is usually no invitation, as the Delta's are not looking for Legacy girls. They believe in self empowerment, and those who want to become a Delta do so by their own accord.

[The Challenges to become a Little Sister]

[A.] Troy! ( -> RP drunk)
Before the Odyssey lies your first victory. You besieged Troy, and they gave in, opening their gates survived, and conquered; making you one of the exceptional. And now it is time to celebrate!
Getting so drunk during a party that you entertain your future sisters. How far this will go might not be just up to you, because if you fail to entertain you might not even make it beyond even this first of all steps. So make sure that you are a spectacle the sorority will talk about for semesters to come! Drink until you sing, vomit or pass out!

With the first challenge completed the aspirant will be elevated to Little Sister.
A pledge can do the remaining six challenges in any order she likes. To become a sister only five of the six following challenges have to be completed.
There is no time limit, and anyone can stay a pledge for as long as they wish without having to fear retribution. On the other hand it is fully up to the pledge when she will be promoted from Little Sister to Sister. All she has to do is to complete her tasks.

[The Challenges to become a Sister]

[B.] Xenia ( -> 1 month of community work, or be at 4 events of that. Cannot be skipped or replaced)
Putting in the work is important, and so it should come not as a surprise that one of your most important tasks is doing exactly this. Like the ship, and crew had to be prepared by Odysseus you will have to prepare your sorority, shaping the community you want to be a part of for the rest of your life.
This can take many forms, but should not just benefit you, and can take the form of community or social work, or doing more than just helping with one of the activities Delta always tries to provide.

[1.] Exposition ( -> RP in a toga for one day, and do classes, as well as little tasks for Sisters)
The rise of the heroine! A true Tri Delta is measured by her own deeds alone! So for one day you will dress like those heroines of the Greek, wear your toga, and sandals, and talk like it is right for one from these times. You will also ask each, and every Sister you encounter if you can be of service. If you refuse any of the tasks she asks of you, better be prepared to speak your case before the Council! And it will be best to not expect any mercy!
And of course you will have to visit at least one class. Only if you have fulfilled both requirements you can mark this challenge as mastered.

[2.] Escape to the Phaeacians ( -> Do your part, and work)
It's not all about parties, but it is. There is a lot of work to be done to keep the sorority afloat. It does not matter if you tend to the bar during a party, or be one of those who helps to clean up afterwards, or do whatever work is to be done around the house. As long as you work as part of the team. This might sound suspiciously like something you are supposed to do on a daily basis anyways. So maybe this is just to remind you that keeping the ship clean and afloat is not a punishment, but something that is cherished by those around you, and necessary.

[3.] Odysseus' account of his adventures ( -> Organize a class. It can be together with a professor)
It is time that you give something of your wisdom to others. You are here to learn, and so are others. Holding a class of your choosing either alone, or with the help of a lecturer will earn you yet another step towards that sweet, sweet goal of yours.

[4.] Return to Ithaca ( -> XXX)
XXX

[5.] Slaying of the Suitors ( -> Win a challenge)
It would not be an epic, if it does not end with a challenge of either the mind, or the body. Seeing you take those laurels of victory!

Extra challenges that will count toward the five numbered (1. to 5.) challenges if they can be fulfilled by the Little Sister
Each of those extra challenges will only ever count once. So it does not matter how often a pledge will become the Champion of the Hunt for example, it still will only count as one challenge fulfilled..

[Champion of the Hunt]
When a pledge becomes the Champion of the Hunt, earning herself (most likely) the golden laurels for the first time.

[The Fool's Hazing]
If you have been the target of a fool's hazing, and carried yourself through it with bravery, and your head held up high then this will count towards your challenges.

===========================================================================================

Rituals of the Delta Delta Delta:

[The Feast]
It wouldn't be a sorority if there weren't any parties. And the open parties with almost every student, and maybe even a few teachers invited are usually called the Feast. They can be anything from just your normal block party, to movie nights, or whatever the unofficial party committee of the sorority comes up with.
Usually big announcements are made there, to honor Sisters, or lift new Pledges up.

[The Hunt]
Big pranks of any kind, organized by the sorority itself.

[The Fool]
A special kind of prank aimed usually on one of the pledges of the sorority.

[The Circle]
Parties only for members of the sorority.

===========================================================================================

Small Rituals of the Delta Delta Delta:

These are little everyday things each and every sister in the Tri Delta has to perform. Failing so can lead to a light scolding, some hazing, or depending on the situation and severity to some serious trouble.
While a Delta is not a snitch, it can also lead to trouble if a sister lets the failing of another sister slide.

[Make room for Helen!] (Little Sisters only)
At the beginning of each class every pledge has to get up from her seat if a Sister, or Big Sister shoes up. Offering their seat to them.

===========================================================================================

Dress Code:

There is no dress code on a day to day basis. As with every other campus organization wearing the colors of the sorority is of course appreciated, but by far not required.
Furthermore Sisters are encouraged to wear their laurel badge pin with pride, as long as the outfit allows it. Usually this should be worn on the collar.

At toga events Little Sisters, Sisters and Big Sisters of the Sorority have to wear a toga (or something similar) of course. While Honor Sisters are usually exempt from most rules, and rituals they of course have to wear a toga as well during such events.This is a show of pride in where you belong, and what would be your purpose to be one of the sorority if you were not proud about it?

During those toga events, or even during some of the rituals (especially when a Little Sister is elevated to a full Sister) the members of the Council are expected to wear silver laurels, and no one but the current Heroine of the Delta is allowed to wear golden laurels.
Sisters are allowed to wear natural green colored laurels, and Little Sisters are forbidden to wear laurels of any form. Even something as leaf shaped hair clips, or ear rings can be frowned upon when it comes to Little Sisters.
