GROUP NAME: Flamingos

TYPE: Official Business

BACKGROUND: Founded amidst the whispers of the swamp and the whispers of a community seeking refuge, Flamingos stands as a testament to the resilience and spirit of the LGBTQ+ collective. I hope for it to become a beacon of vibrant expression and uninhibited freedom in the heart of the bayou. My goal for Flamingos is to have a place where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur, where inhibitions dissolve like mist on the water. Is it a dance club? Is it a bar? Is it a dungeon? Yes, yes and yes and so much more. Flamingos is ambiguous, a haven of acceptance and celebration. Nic has a history as a bartender and dancer so this feels like a natural progression for him. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community having a safe, fun inclusive space is near and dear to his (and my) heart. Being present in the club to draw in customers or in the city to make the connections is priority. A new drink menu and weekly specials will be added. Club events such as dance nights, theme nights, live performances, drag shows, interpretive dance...things along that line will be added. Karaoke nights are always fun. Art shows featuring local artists, having catered meals from eateries in BW, renting the space out for parties, receptions, speed dating events are also thoughts. The possibilities are vast.

UNIQUE: Flamingos, by its very existence, is unique. There is not another LGBTQ+ club/bar on sim. As such this gives opportunity to support/promote members of the LGBTQ+ community though collaborations and different event ideas. Additionally, going into the BW community and seeking partnerships/collaborations with other business owners and/or factions will help create strong community bonds.

EXPERIENCE: I have been in SL going on 15 years. Throughout the years I have had the pleasure to take on many different roles on roleplay sims as well as co-owning a few. I work well with people and enjoy the collaborative process.

IDEAS: Any new hires would be welcomed and trained personally, if at all possible. Staff would be encouraged to actively engage in the club as well as town to draw in prospective customers. Events and promotions would be a collaborative process, all ideas encouraged and welcomed. I would love for the club to be a second family.

OTHER: A grand party to reopen the club would be in order, perhaps a theme night with a dj (if I can find one) to celebrate diversity, love and acceptance.
