Acland Carriére resided in Alsace, France for half of his life. His bloodline ran thick with talented performers, his parents and himself being no different. As his mother and father were fairly wealthy due to their talents, they denied Acland nothing but their own time and attention. Various instruments found themselves in his hands and music became his most trusted companion in his youth. He held fast to the daydreams of being on stage just like his parents, yet it quickly got buried by sorrows when an incident claimed both his parents’ lives. Little did he know that the day of the funeral would change his life. Scandals arose to blacken the names of Acland’s parents— tasteless rumors of adultery as a means of obtaining their fame. With such “news” came paparazzi, and with paparazzi came frustrations. As one crossed a line much too far, so did the young Carriére… and he became an artist of a most violent kind. A neighbor that had looked out for Acland was the first to discover the photographer’s corpse. Not wanting the young man to suffer more unnecessary attentions, Acland was guided by the much too caring neighbor. Having collected his inheritance, he fled the country and began a new life traveling westward. Now in his forties and reaching Louisiana, Acland aspires to rekindle the embers of his dreams… without strangling another throat to do it. = Acland Carriére considers himself an artist. An eccentric; his manner is rather pretentious, almost like nobility in a period drama. His preferred style of dress makes him look like he walked out of one such drama. He is meticulous and he seeks perfection in whatever he does. Despite this, he tries to treat others with civility unless he feels he’s been wronged. Docile but is prone to slinging threats when his patience is tried. |
