Laveau Clinic

BACKGROUND: As the leader of the Laveau Clinic, I am dedicated to bringing attention and much-needed roleplay (RP) to this vital municipal service. The clinic, along with other city services like the fire department and sheriff's office, is crucial for making a roleplay city feel alive. Currently, the clinic and FD have not been central to many major, city-wide storylines. My goal is to change that. I envision the clinic being enveloped in stories that not only involve the FD but also the Stillwaters Asylum, the LSD, and any other businesses willing to collaborate. To create an inclusive environment for employees, I plan to: - Position Hell as the medical director. However, as a nurse and not a doctor, she will rely heavily on the collaborative efforts of her team to guide her decisions. Hell will gladly promote a lead doctor and lead nurse to help establish a sense of duty and teamwork. This approach will foster a welcoming environment where newcomers and veterans alike feel eager to become part of the team. - Ensure the clinic presents an image of doing everything above board, even if that isn't entirely the case. This will create opportunities for clinic staff training days, community outreach projects, and events like blood drives. These activities will be supported by the collaborative effort within the clinic. - Hell has worked at the clinic on and off since she arrived in Laveau a couple of years ago, making her the longest-running employee. This gives her a sense of seniority that will push her to pursue the medical director position and bring the clinic to greatness. Hell has a distinct vision for the clinic. In her personal life, especially recently, there has been an abundance of criminality and karmically negative activities. Without revealing too much about her involvement with the Salopri gang and her fiancé Kingston Varriale, Hell's intense moral compass drives her to offset the negative karmic debt she and her family have accrued by healing and saving lives at the clinic. This constant cycle will motivate her to continue working at the clinic and make it a positive force for good, even as darker activities occur behind the scenes. Hell's naturally friendly and welcoming demeanor, combined with her great bedside manner and leadership qualities, will help uplift those around her to success and share the spotlight. 2. How will you make this business stand out from the others? The clinic already has its own identity as the only medical facility in Laveau. However, I plan to make it stand out further through regular events and a strong social media presence. Hell has always been active in promoting local events and Laveau on social media (previously X @hellkitten_BW, and now BlueSky @hellkittenBW). Hell will strive to make the clinic a bastion of good, which differs from many of the openly corrupt businesses that flourish in the backwaters. While chaos, darkness, and bad activities may occur behind the scenes due to her association with the Salopri, on the surface, the clinic will present an image of doing everything above board. This juxtaposition will make the clinic unique and engaging.

 

UNIQUE: The clinic already has its own identity as the only medical facility in Laveau. However, I plan to make it stand out further through regular events and a strong social media presence. Hell has always been active in promoting local events and Laveau on social media (previously X @hellkitten_BW, and now BlueSky @hellkittenBW). Hell will strive to make the clinic a bastion of good, which differs from many of the openly corrupt businesses that flourish in the backwaters. While chaos, darkness, and bad activities may occur behind the scenes due to her association with the Salopri, on the surface, the clinic will present an image of doing everything above board. This juxtaposition will make the clinic unique and engaging. Additionally, the clinic's "bw healer" tag will attract players who wish to play less academic medical professionals. A touch of spirituality and woo-woo wellness will fit perfectly with the lore and vibe of Laveau.

Another way I'd like to make the clinic stand out is by really emphasising the connection to the Silent Serpents. It makes sense to me that the cartel who runs BW would be heavily tied up in it's municipal services for money laundering and control purposes. It would also help the clinic remain a neutral space, not overtaken by any specific faction, with it's main and first loyalty to the Silent Serpents.

 

EXPERIENCE: As a leader and roleplayer, my goal is always the same: collaboration. I believe the beauty of roleplay is the ability to write with others and allow things to go in unexpected directions. My experience running Barracuda's Bar and organizing various events in the Backwaters provides a strong foundation to take on the integral role of managing the Laveau Clinic. I have demonstrated my care and love for Laveau and my desire to see it grow by drawing people in with active roleplay opportunities and events. Some examples of events I've organized include: - The Hell Night Rave at Stillwaters Asylum, which drew players from Laveau, Columtreal, and Hathian. - Barracuda's Bar Lonely Hearts Valentine's Day party. - Ostara, Spring Equinox Celebration and Bonfire. - The Barracuda's Pirate Dock Party, a block party event featuring a giant pirate ship and interactive mer-people entertainers.

 

IDEAS: To engage new players, Hell will use word of mouth to promote clinic events. She's not a shy character and will have no problem approaching strangers to provide flyers for free STD testing or event information. For new employees, I plan to implement a monthly employee spotlight (employee of the month) and allow the lead doctor and lead nurse to run and lead events alongside Hell. This approach will help manage the rotating staff at the clinic. Hell will also conduct training workshops and clinic staff-specific event days to build camaraderie and a strong team identity.

 

OTHER: For the grand re-opening event, I propose hosting a Blood Drive! This community-wide event could include collaboration or sponsorship from various BW businesses. It would also allow for the perfect amount of chaos to ensue. Imagine a blood heist, faulty bags from budget cuts leading to a crimson tidal wave, or the blood being used for nefarious purposes and sold on the black market to fund clinic upgrades. The possibilities for dark, fun chaos are endless.
