Welcome to the Hathian Police Department. As you may have noticed, you are now part of an immersive and fully functioning police department with the City of Hathian. You may find your very first few days overwhelming as there is a lot to learn and uncover, but this guide is here to quickly and easily give you the key elements of getting started on your path. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to one of your supervising officers OOC'ly for guidance.

Step 1: Getting started
- it can be the hardest and also easiest part of the transition into the HPD. For starters, once you have your group invite you need to check the following - that you have the HPD Hud, that you have reviewed the HPD handbook, and that you have procurred your uniform from the HPD lockerroom (free of charge). For the HPD handbook visit this link: http://thecrackden.com/docs/police/

Step 2: Introducing yourself - The HPD follows a chain of command structure that starts all the way at the bottom with rookies, moves to officers, then to officer grade II, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, and finally Captain. You need to make sure to take intiative and hop into role-play from the very start - waiting for a Lieutenant or the Captain to "introduce" you will likely have you waiting a very long time. The best bet is to IM a corporal when you see them online to OOC'ly coordinate your first meet and a sergeant if that proves unsuccessful. Don't wait to role-play though, just jump right in.

Step 3: Being a rookie
- Congratulations, you've made it to Rookie. What does that mean exactly. It means you're at the bottom rung of the ladder. Rookies are considered on probation for 30 days. This isn't mean to scare anyone - but it is meant to be a warning - just because you now have a badge does not mean you can do whatever you want. HPD Corruption is encouraged, but you have to prove yourself to those in charge that you aren't a liability IC'ly. The more tenure you develop, the more and more room you have to be a public relations nightmare.
