SUBJECT: Patrol Schedules
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team,
Following an emergency session with the City Council in regards to the uprise in violent crimes across Hathian and it's 5 territories, increase uniformed officer presence has been approved for the following priorities:
1) ID Checks - Due to an overwhelming increase in outstanding warrants and gang activity, ID checks are being scheduled across many of Hathian's most popular hotspots.
2) Weapon Checks - Increase in violent crimes has resulted in a mandate that the Hathian Police Department crack down on weapon offenders. Weapon checks will also be scheduled in some of Hathian's most popular hotspots. Specific weapons being checked for - firearms, blades over 5 inches in length, switch blades or automatic knives, tasers, military grade mace or pepper spray, modified weapons designed to inflict damage (such as baseball bat with nails).
3) Columtreal Patrols - As the end of the year approaches and summer sessions begin, students have been known to get rowdy. Scheduled patrol times have been added to help the local college security force maintain order. (During the scheduled patrol times - if no one is on in Black Bottom, there is no need to sit there without role-play, but if you start patrolling there, more people will begin to stay around longer, it's the old addage - build it and they will come).
In order to execute on these directives, supervising officers are asked to perform a "status check" whenever coming on duty to ascertain the location of each officer. Should on duty officers not be in assigned locations but are available (and not in a scene obviously) they should be re-routed to assigned posts.
The primary purpose of these directives is not to arrest, unless in the case of an open warrant or apb, however, but to deter further criminal activity. Please utilize citations where applicable to lessen the strain on the HPD budget for housing inmates overnight. (Ultimately - we don't want to scare people away, we want to encourage creative scenes, so please don't immediately arrest - get creative).
Below is a copy of the schedule. Questions, concerns, comments should be directed to Lt. Hartigan (via inworld notecard).
Thank You,
Lt. Jack Hartigan
