Eowama attended an American school in Central America, but at age 15 saw her middle-class life fall apart when her parents died in a car crash. She dropped out of high school to support her five siblings, then migrated to the USA at age 18 with an abusive cousin's help, where she lives frugally doing low-level jobs.
Eowama went into debt to pay the coyotero and risked life and limb to enter illegally, but never thought she would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Escaping poverty in Central America only to fall into the rampant vice and squalor of the Crack Den was not in her plans. Where was the happy life of ease and comfort she had dreamed of?
Eowama's older brother had been killed on the way north, and now she was alone and penniless, with no way to escape this nightmare. Will she survive with her wholesomeness intact, or will she give in to social pressure and conform to this way of life? Only time will tell.
She speaks with a Spanish accent and can be sweet and complacent, but is also tough and has street smarts. Carries $10 and some coins, a mobile phone, a joint of marihuana and lighter, and a switchblade and mace.
