sylasdorne residentsaidHowdy CD! Name's V, or Vince if you rather. Been a role-player for most of my life and, with the state of SL with all its customization, figured I'd dig back in and see what RP worlds were still up and running. I tend to do... juuust about any kind of RP people have a proclivity for, from casual hangouts to more story-driven content (world/character-building's kind of a drug). So I'm eager to see what threads there are to pull here. Looking forward to meeting you guys and gals in-world! Name: Vincent Draevus Vincent was something of an oddity among his family, more social and publicly outgoing than preferred. He wasn't always the life of the party, so to speak, but thanks to his family's wealth and history there was never a shortage of opportunity. So arrogance, pride, even a hint of devious 'obligation' had sewn its seeds as he grew up; leading to a plethora of incidents in his youth where Vincent had tried to flex his family's position to get what he wanted(scarcely do his favor, mind). Still, he'd developed an admiration for photography early on, and paired with his insistent demeanor? Vincent went on to place the family name in numerous magazines such as Shutter and B&W; hell he'd even managed a couple entries in the more risque avenues such as Penthouse--much to his mother's dismay. It wasn't so much that his work itself was phenomenal, but that Vincent had a way of describing his models with such... visceral detail that left many seeking a chance to stand in front of the lens. To know that their finest - or even worst - moments would last forever. That... that was Vincent's drug. Immortalizing those perfect moments, however sweet, lurid or depraved (as far as 'normal' was concerned at least... right?). Models and events reaching from simple boudoir shoots to others more fit for the underground scenes. On the surface? He looked the part of any other silver-spoon fed heir to riches. But over the years learned to utilize people, not money, to get what he wanted. As the years passed, however, and Vincent's proclivity for drawing the spotlight on his family? The choice was made - more or less for him - to take his work and extracurricular activities outside the Draevus home. Moving from Florida to California, Georgia to Texas; barely staying in one place for more than a year before what should have been an unfortunate moment in history drew his attention: Katrina. The way society changed, the degradation and twisting of the land and its people as underworld life more or less became the norm. Even if it was hidden beneath a veil of said normalcy to those without. Hathian Parish, New Orleans, it carried such... character now. While settling in at his newfound muse, even exploring the college campus of Columtreal, Vincent got yet another surprise as his sister, Denise - whom no one back home ever mentioned - reached out on social media. Another 'bad egg' as far as the family was concerned--he was starting to think it was a trend among the Draevus' earlier generations. 'Do as we say, or go your own way'. Once he'd gotten to know Denise well enough, he'd suggested she join him in Louisiana; a chance to get away from everything that held her back and start fresh. Even helping to get her transferred to Columtreal to continue her studies. New faces, new places...What treasures could he trap in time here? What lows and highs could he immortalize? ... what secrets lie beneath the surface? |
