AnonymoussaidIt has come to my attention that false information concerning the business VGS, my roleplay as Jari Jurgis and my work ethic as Allie Ree was recently slandered in public chat. It is unfortunate that I was naïve enough not to keep Jari’s identity a secret. I have enjoyed a cooperative and friendly business relationship with the Crack Den since sometime in 2006, first with Allie’s Super Cool Stuff – and then with VGS Black Market. Prior to that, I had role played there with Jari as a cop, back in the day. Neither has caused any friction in the past years. And so I didn’t anticipate what’s happened since, which won’t be rehashed here. I am writing only to establish factual information that can be verified in response to things that were said at a recent party.
Fact: Hakkon Barbosa was Jari’s play partner, a friend and someone who also had a positive experience roleplaying in the CD in the past, with another AV. Hakkon has nothing to do with VGS. Vaughan Elliot is Allie Ree’s business partner. He has never roleplayed in SL nor does he read the Crack Den forums. He remains locked in a concrete box, scripting and making chore lists and rule robots for Allie.
Fact: Nobody has to buy anything to roleplay at the Jail. Not Guards, not Inmates, not Bounty Hunters or Visitors. We’ve spent thousands of lindens on the Jail toys as well as custom-scripted unique items. Additionally there is tier on the land that I pay out each month. The Jail was built as a means to roleplay imprisonment. It is free and anyone can apply for a role. Uniforms are available for 1L. The same creator that makes the HPD uniforms is working the Jail Guard and Inmate uniforms as alternatives to my shabby jumpsuits.
Fact: VGS doesn’t even make a 900L Collar. It doesn’t make sense that cops would put a collar on people when they get arrested. This isn’t just a fabrication. It’s absurd.
Fact: It’s not only not funny. It is not true. The Jail was set up with Kate and Nadir’s enthusiastic support. It was to address the lack of any functional prison roleplay and to stimulate RP in the Den. Before even role playing in the Den, I had been talking with Nadir about incorporating the VGPS TrackNet as a parole system, allowing criminals to roam and police to track them if they broke parole. (It has nothing what so ever to do with collars in design or function.) In the discussion I mentioned the Database would be supplied FREE and said we would have to figure out how to handle the TrackNet devices and Transmitters to limit cost. I also said to Kate that if she would rather not, she shouldn’t worry, that it would save us (Vaughan and Allie) days and days of work. She decided to wait until the legal system was functional and see how things went. I said, “Okay cool.” The sum of 50L or any other sum was never discussed with me. Jail RP is free and there is no required uniform or equipment aside from the 1L jumpsuits. It is not a private club. It is open to anyone who wants to join. It is by application, like most other Den groups. There is an application box in the Guard House.
Fact: I would be very wonky, if it were true.
Fact: Me too.
Fact: I think this is referring to the back-story Hakkon and Jari submitted via the same application process. That would have put us in an anti-gang unit. Nothing to do with the feds. The anti-gang unit was scrapped and both Hakkon and Jari said, “Okay, no hard feelings. Lets move forward.” Everyone shook virtual hands – and that was that. Hakkon and Jari did talk some shit about putting some pressure on the gangs, /in character/. Talking shit /in character/ is kind of like breathing in the Den. Jari and Hakkon were offered promotions to Sergeant a few days after a meeting with the Major. I was told we were recommended by Ethan. We didn’t ask for it. To summarize: We have never tried to shove VGS products down the Crack Den's collective throat. VGS has been on Devil's Pocket for a couple of years now, many residents rent our apartments. we don't make them buy anything. Often we give them things. When we have new products, free copies are usually given to some CD players, builders and owners. This is the only marketing I have done on Crack Den. I brought Jari back to have a refuge from work. Managing VGS is an 80+ hour per week job. I thought writing a new story with old friends would be a fun, stress-free break. Oops. I regret having to write this. It isn’t about role play disputes. Rumors like these have fallout that can hurt more than just the intended target. My business and my business partner have nothing to do with disputes involving Jari and Hakkon. I could not let these misunderstandings stand. Do not believe everything you hear at parties. -Allie |
