Vehicle usage for Both Police, Medical and Fire Dept.

As from what I've quickly come to realize, and have been mentioned a couple times prior to me. Is that Prim-management and usage seems to be high on the list. Therefor not to only make it easier for the users and for those who own vehicles, I have come with a suggestion and would appreciate to hear other people's opinion about.

From my past experiences in the Medical and law-enforcement side of RP in SL, I've always found it quite handy that the vehicles designated to the departments, were owned by the department chief and set to group-access. Thus with arrival at CD, I was quite surprised to see that this wasn't the case over here in CD.

Therefor my following suggestion to possibly make somethings easier for a whole lot of people and also keep track of what goes on.

  • Having all departments such as fire/EMS and PD have their own set of limited vehicles that doesn't require per-say a vehicle permit as they are limited anyway.
  • Departments have a limit of 5 vehicles each, with the FD obviously supporting Ambulances, fire trucks, Chief-vehicle. Police will need 3 marked Black/whites, one supervisor SUV and one unmarked unit (Detective?), when needed more can always be added so long it's access to group only.

In these cases, people can create logs, and vehicles can be swapped between officers whom are on duty at the time. There would be no conflicts on prim-usage to it being more or less as all vehicles will be owned by the Dept. Owners.

Having a limited amount of vehicles may come to some people within the two forces a bit of a different approach, as things would get more interesting too when it comes to RP-scenes.

Fire department, for example, would have only limited supplies to respond to calls, making emergency calls more immersive and possibly more fun too than to have people come up with only short ones. This will also go with the PD, Officers assigned to have a vehicle will be on vehicle patrol/duty, while the others who at the time cant will either go on foot-patrol or have office-duty (this also means, the Chief and or higher ranks can assign people to tasks, making RP within each forces more challenging and fun, people can be paired up or go out on their own).

This is pretty much what I had in mind as for now, but if anyone has other suggestions, comments, questions or would like to add something, don't hesitate to either contact me inworld, or to comment below.

Please if you comment, remain respectful to one another ;D
