You always hear about those kids that go missing, that were kidnapped. They were last seen with John Doe. Well, that was the story for Casie here. Except, it wasn't true. She lived a bad life, as most Hathian youth did. Her father had kidnapped her mother when she was 15 and got her pregnant. She read about her father recently in the papers. "Mateo Torres, age 71, arrested for kidnapping 17 year old girl, shaving her head, and locking her in a basement." Sounds like what he did to her mother 14 years ago. Her mother sold her body on the street to feed her drug habit, Casie always watched. On rare occasion, if there was money left over, Casie would buy food. But she had enough.
