Thomas was  one of two twins born in the middle of nowhere. He appears to be somewhere between 30 and 35 years old. He was abruptly dumped off the train here in Louisiana after hopping on in Chicago where he'd been living with his twin after fleeing their home under suspicious circumstances.

Severely abused as a child when he didn’t complete tasks around the ranch, he’s always tried to disappear into the background. His older twin, Rhett, always tried to protect him. His mental issues got progressively worse, but the boys were afraid to get help because they didn't want to draw attention to themselves, even as they grew into adulthood.

As a way to deal with the abuse he suffered, he detached and dove deep into his imagination. Eventually, after a mental breakdown in April 2020, he was unable to separate reality from his imagination. Now he lives in his own mind, perched between reality and fantasy.
