Day 1 as an FDH Probie - September 13, 2015

Weeeeeeeeeee! I'm going crazy. Haha! No. I'm not. I had an awesome time today! I got to finish my interview with another person, since 'Doe' has been busy lately or I think that's what it is. Emily did it and two people listened in! TWO! No pressure Right?! She gave me two scenarios each seprately but with no breathe in between. Well Aubin approved after the first one. Emily said after the second one, Yep you know your stuff, so she's like we can defiantly hire ya. Dani said "Toss her a shirt and come on this call!" Wait? What? Okay! No Pressure.

Emily said she would make a call to HGH while we were gone to get me an appointment to get cleared for my Asthma to start Firefighter training!

Right. We will be back.

Well 15 second later, I got tossed a probie shirt, pants, and boots then the keys to A-2 Bus. Wait Keys?!? Shit. I suck at driving. Are you kidding me? I'm driving?!? Nope. They wasn't kidding. I was going to drive. Ok. I got this, no problem! I started driving out of the station and headed towards the Clam where the incident was going on. Great. A dumb-ass in middle of the road! Thanks! I got flicked off. I tried to dodge him. I mean shit. He couldn't have gotten hurt, he was walking fine. Arrived at scene waited for the police's okay to head in. Thank you Dani for handling the radio.

The victim was a male and a doctor apparently. The other victim was a little boy. He just had a panic attack. He was going to be fine. The male doctor was going to be too, just a little shocky. Dani tossed him at me and we ended up having the same idea to stabilize his wound for transport. We did that. I learned to get the stretcher in the bus. Priceless moment. Darn thing hates me. Dani drove to the hospital. I got him out and went inside, doors and stretchers is not a good combination even if they are sliding ones. We got him transferred into the hands of HGH then went back to the station. I tried backing up for the first time, Hard but did it!

When we got back to base, She told Emily I was lead paramedic this time and popped my cherry. I laughed. Emily smiled and there was an officer there. I didn't know who he was and didn't have time. Emily sent me right back out towards HGH to get checked. Shit.

Upon arrival at the hospital, I went to the lobby. The receptionist buzzed me through to Dr. Minx Vyper, a physician at HGH. I go in and see the doctor. She's blonde and tall. She's pretty. I got up on the bed, she listened to my heart and lungs then wanted to do the spirometry test. I had to it four times! FOUR! I hate that test worth everything my life has. She said the worse test was without the inhalers. The albuterol passes the test but if I get in a bind, it would be a problem, so she made me try it with the Atrovent. I got it perfectly with it. God. I'm scared for when my Asthma ever gets worse. I'll make sure to find Minx though. She'll help me. Anyways, she cleared me and gave me prescription for Atrovent and a refill for Albuterol. I have to have them on me at all times while at work. Emily will be happy. Back to the station.
