Your typical family raised Valaria (Ria, for short): Father was a firefighter; is now deceased. Mother was a nurse, is now deceased. Both of whom were highly abusive until she was 9. From then on, they tried to be good to her, just for the sake of not being caught. When she was about 16, she dropped out of high school to travel and did so by means of hitch-hiking, mostly because she didn't have any money. From the time she was 18 to now, she has been piecing her life back together from experimenting with drugs and prostitution to now having her own little family of herself and her twins. As for personality, she is how she is. She's no stranger to the streets, but she treats people with all the respect she's treated with in return. She's witty and sarcastic but knows when to hold her tongue or be serious when she needs to. Very laid back and can hold her own; Ria is the least judgmental person you will ever meet.

Ria lived in Hathian from 2008-2014, during which time she had an affair with Valmont Marseille, who got her pregnant. She gave birth to a boy and girl - fraternal twins - in May of 2012 at a hospital in New Orleans. In June of 2014, she moved home to Scotland with the twins. During her time at home, she married Valmont, but it was only legal in the UK due to marriage laws. She also started her own business as a marriage and sex therapist working with couples who have had troubles with intimacy and other aspects of their marriages.

After a few years away, Ria feels ready to return to Hathian. Her 9-year-old twins are moving to Spain to live with Ria's aunt and cousin, leaving Ria as a free agent in Louisiana-land. She hopes to return to work as a clinical psychologist at HGH and re-introduce herself as the loose leaf tea supplier at The Grind.
