Grayson sat alone behind the piano that he had grown to depend on. In front of him were empty sheets of paper for musical composition. Life had been a roller coaster of ups and downs, ins and outs, since he arrived in Hathian. He thought about writing a journal to compose his thoughts but each time he committed pen to paper it seemed as if his mind would go blank. Everything he thought, and felt just disappeared. Music had always been the way he expressed his emotions. So, why not do something different, he thought. Instead of writing down his thoughts and feelings in words, he'd do it in the lyrics of whatever song pertained to him for that day. His fingers moved along the keys of the piano, the emotion of the day flowed through him into his fingers. That feeling was what willed his fingers to move. His voice rang out, deep and smooth. It echoed off the walls of the spacious room.

The cracks appear along the wall wall wall wall wall
see the people stoop back, that once stood tall tall tall tall tall
I see the buildings crumble see the empires fall
but I see no more and i don't recall
causeI see
nothing but the good things
cause I see
nothing but the good things
'cus I see
nothing but the good things
nothing but the good good good good good good
nothing but the good things
well nothing ventured nothing lost
count the changes count the cost
a reformation so uncertain
keep your station draw the curtain
cause out there the snipers work the ridges
building bombs and blowing bridges
out there on a darkened road
the lines are dead and the cars explode
but in here
nothing but the good things
in here
nothing but the good things
in here
nothing but the good things
nothing but the good good good good good good
nothing but the good things

i see a green sea a pleasant land land land land land
nothing legal underhand
on the fence or in the sand
well i take no chances and i take no stand
against the wall
against the wire
against the fall
against the fire
against the sale
against the hire
they say the profit's high
but i know the cost is higher
still i see
nothing but the good things
still i see
nothing but the good things
still i see, hear, speak, do, talk, see
nothing but the good things
nothing but the good good good good good good
nothing but the good things
nothing but the good things
nothing but the good good good good things

The last of the musical notes died out. He took a deep breath and picked up the pen. He wrote the date and the song. Good Things - Sisters of Mercy
