Hi there!

I've been in CD for 3-4 years now. Not always as active, often roleplaying a no-body in a big city. And I've gathered a lot of opinions of people and I've created my own opinions. And I have some complaints towards a current sim story arc and the massive lag on-sim that has been there for oh-so many years.

To make up for my complaints, because nobody likes complaints or complaining: I have some suggestions for improvement. And I'd offer to be more involved into them but starting off coming month, I won't be having much time for this. But who knows what the future might bring.

So let's go to the complaints. One being the virus that is currently being spread as a sim wide story arc. It is supposed to induce sexual arousal, strenghten it. Or make you panic and / or induce fear. This virus, I believe, shouldn't have a 'home' in Crack Den. If you want a virus, go to Outbreak. Atleast that's what I'd suggest. As well as that this story arc is and was used by many roleplay sims, newer ones, older ones. It's an old story, repeating and repeating. I'll just call one of those sims I've already expierenced it at, because this sim is already down anyways: Bradford Falls. It was the exact same story but the virus was aquired differently but did provide the same roleplay: a silly excuse to have public sex, get raped, do rape or instead be violent and paranoid. And yes, this all suits in a sim like CD but the virus is cliché.

Then there's the sculpted buildings on sim. They give the sim a real urban, filthy look. The way a crack den is supposed to look.. but aren't there way better mesh buildings on the market that will reduce the lag? It will most likely reduce prim count and reduce the lag, so it's a win-win situation. The current buildings in CD are from a time before there was even any mesh in Second Life.

Solutions and suggestions from my side?

On the story arc thing. If you have to do something gruesome to get people wild and sex craving, get someone to distribute drugs. Or more people then that. Approach a gang OOCly, ask them if they'd be up for that kind of roleplay. The drug would get people hooked, would get people addicted. It would be the same story but in a Crack Den flavour, home to Crack Den.

Another option?

Get a serial killer.. who spreads or drops bodyparts in the city. People on-sim would be able to find those, report it to the police. It'd get civilians busy but also the rest of the people, which would lead to getting the serial killer caught, or just stopping his insanity because he/she feels the heat coming close?

Or just get gangs fighting each other. Introduce gang wars, have a server wide event where gangs just FIGHT each other on the street infront of civilians. It'll get everyone busy, entertained, introduced.

Then obviously there's just the regular business events, street block barbeques.

As for the buildings? There's a lot of buildings on the marketplace that will do good for CD's enviroment. There's plenty of creators willing and capable of making something as well. There's so many options to give and offer. Especially for buildings that are daily in use. Like Lou's. There's also a lot of buildings currently broken down, shut down. Perhaps a good excuse ICly to re-do them. Right?

All in all.. Crack Den hasn't been changed in all those years. And that's what makes it unique, because this is the only sim that people keep returning to because it's run by, what seems like a good base community, mentors and staff members, and if one leaves, the gap gets closed by another who is more then willing to take their place in order to make this sim a better enviroment to roleplay in. But there's those small things, that perhaps with a bit of community effort and planning, are able to be changed.

Let me know what you lot think. If this suggestion is actually liked or if people ask for it, I wouldn't even mind spending my time to go through the marketplace in the search of buildings applicable for Crack Den. Just let me know your thoughts, community!
