Nadir TaovsaidI figured I'd start this thread to bitch or rave about something that was recently seen. Feel free to add to this thread with your own review on the any movies you caught on tv, theater or rented. Would be interesting to read other's reaction and recommendations! I'll start with the last 3 movies I caught: The Happening Sucks ass ... totally predictable and just an excuse to do a Final Destination type movie, IMO. I think the whole "M Night's first Rated R move" marketing ploy was all they had going for him .. director's last 3 movies (this one, Lady in the Water and the Village) were horrible. I must say, I did enjoy Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs ... but damn, movies after that totally sucked. I think he lost his edge. However, he does have good cinematography. He made the movie look good considering most of it was done in fields and open forest-y areas. The Incredible Hulk I am a Marvel / DC fan ... I grew up on comic books and most especially traded the comic cards (anyone else do this?). They totally redid this movie from the Hulk movie that was released 5 yrs ago and I thought it was pretty damn good. Marvel is going the way of introducing comic characters in different movies, and all linking them together. I like the way they're going with the movies, especially after releasing Ironman... I heard that there's about an hour's worth that was cut by the director which shows a dark side to Bruce Banner and introduces Captain America. They'll release it online though sometime to watch. Overall good movie, if you're interested in sci fi flicks, this would be a good watch. Get Smart So I didn't know this movie was based on an old 60's detective show until a friend enlightened me right after the movie was done. I'm a fan of Steve Carell and thought this would be an entertaining watch ... and it was. He's funny as hell in the television show, the Office, and obviously his performance in previous movies like "40 yr old virgin". He's pretty funny in this movie too, with assist from the Rock and a few others. Oh, and Anne Hathaway provides her own kind of entertainment on the screen, of course xD |
