Back Story:

Born in a remote village in UK, Sarah is one of the four daughters of eddington family.Her mother died when she was very young and the other three siblings were brought home by her step mother. They never got along well with Sarah.
her mother was cruel, her father was strict, and the sisters were sinister. Sarah was never let to go to school. She was home schooled. This solitary life style seemed forever.

On her 19 th birthday, Sarah got a present from her father . It was an old fashioned dress which she didnt like.Her step mom wished her happy birthday before hitting the bed after she came home drunk. The three sister didn't seem to know anything about her birthday.That night, she tried to sleep , she couldn't. She got out of bed and put the old fashioned dress on. She checked her purse and found that it had enough money to travel to a town about 500 miles away. She packed her bag, went to the station and boarded a train to a town exactly 500 miles away, the farthest she could afford from the eddington house.

Sarah got out of the train and the bleakness of the Hathian struck her. She remembered overhearing from her sisters about a university in the Hathian. She wanted to attend the university and she needs the money. Sarah knew her immediate priority is to find a job .
