Recently I’ve noticed people not rping out their injuries in one form or another. Sometimes I think it’s simply us being slightly lazy, bored of ‘injured rp’ or maybe just forgetting, but truthfully I don’t know what the real reason is. Kind of what I’m hoping for with this thread, that maybe we can figure out why this has be happening, maybe some basic tips for how to roleplay with injuries.
The issues I see are:
1. Fighting with injuries
There’s nothing wrong with fighting with injuries IF it’s handled realistically. Stitched wounds are likely to open up again, movement and strength would be limited, etc. It all depends on the injuries of course, but even the small ones can affect a fight. I know sometimes we get caught up in the fight, in the moment but I think it’s rather important to follow through with the injuries.
2. Taking realistic injuries.
Yes, not many of us have had this shit done to us in rl, but we can imagine the damage done. A baseball bat to the face, knife to the back, kick to the balls, whatever it is, seems like some have this ‘shake it off’ attitude, not only within the fight itself but afterwards, keeping the rp up throughout the day to day stuff.

Anyway, those were the main things I saw. Any other ideas, issues, suggestions are welcome. I just want to hear people’s ideas behind rping out injuries in general.
