Opening the window to her bedroom slowly Rosa takes her bag full of her most prized posetions and sets it on the rooftop of her parents house. Takeing one last glace around the room she sighs and shuts off the light climbing out of the window for good....How did Rosa manage to end up in Hathain.....some say its fate, others say is just luck of the draw, but neither were true in the case of Rosa...No she didnt accidentaly end up here. She chose it.

The last week of highschool Rosa had overherd two of her classmates talking about the collage in Hathain and how they would never dream of going there. It caught Rosas attention to say the least. That very same night Rosa sat down at dinner with her mother and father. It was always an ackword scene at dinner. As she sat on her knees at their Japanese style table eating some strange soup her mother had prepared her father spoke up breaking the silence.

"Rosalind.....your mother and I have discused your life after highschool and we have found a sutable man for you to marry. He lives in Okinawa Japan and is very wealthy. You will marry him in a month and you mother and I will finnaly be free of you..."

He always talked like that...Like Rosa was some weight attached to his foot that he had to drag around. He had said from the time she was born that he would rather of had a boy then a worthless girl. Her mother kept her eyes on the glossy tabletop. Rosa opend her mouth and what came out if next would either be the best thing in her life or the worst but..she had to say it...she was 18 now.

"Father.....I was thinking I could go to collage here in the states....Maybe be a journalist." Her father snorted with laughter.
"You must be kidding Rosalind.....A female has no business at collage and a failure like you shouldnt dream of such foolish things...who would hire you hmm? Anyone stupid enough to give you a job as a writer must be brain dead...No. You will get married in a mounth and you WILL be going to Japan....and that is finnl."

Her fathers words echoed in her head as she stood on the rooftop looking down at the dark ground below her. The stars were never so bright befor that night. It was almost as if the heavens were guiding her and were on her side.
As she took a deep breath she turned around and stood on the edge of the rooftop. She looked into her darkend room and hopped backwords grabbing the gutter just in time.

As soon as her feet hit the grass Rosa was off and running..for where she didnt know but she knew her finnal destination would be CU in Hathian. From city to city she travled. She hichhiked and shed stay in a small town for a few months befor moving on saveing as much money as she could.

Finnaly she had made it, after 3 long years of dodging investigates and cops that her parents had pais to find her she had set foot in Hathian. Stepping off the Bus with nothign more then 50 bucks and her bag over her shoulder she opend the locket around her neck and looked at her true loves picture.

"Im doing this for us" she said as if she was talking stright to Barry.

He was her whole motavation for leaving. He was her high school Boyfriend and befor he got shipped off for the air force he had purposed to her. Her parents ofcourse were aginst it and forbided her to marry him. She would do exactly that. She would Marry him and they would make their life in Hathian...together.
