Forgive me if this topic has been exhausted or dismissed already-- I did a quick search and didn't find anything, but I'll admit it was a rather cursory glance.

I've been noticing recently-- although I'm sure it's not a new topic by any means-- a lot of discussion about new players who don't really know what they're doing. I've seen posts about people feeling outcasted. I've seen posts regarding the proper way to deal with new players who don't know RP etiquette yet, etc. So I've been thinking on that note quite a bit. And while I'm not proposing a fix all because I truly don't believe one exists... I was wondering if we have Roleplay coaches/teachers connected to Crack Den?

I spend some time over at CARP on occasion and while their maze of predator/prey roleplay is the draw and, I suppose, the goal of those who attend, they offer classes related to roleplay-- specifically roleplay as it suits their CARP group. I think it's a really cool idea and one we could easily do here if we had volunteers to function as teachers. And based on what I've read on the forums, I would imagine we'd have a few.

So I guess all I'm suggesting is that we offer OOC classes/tutorials/etc. on basic roleplay principals to those people who are interested. Maybe they're successful, maybe they're not-- but at least it's a way that we're supporting our new players and hopefully preparing them for really awesome RP in Hathian.

Things like:

Para posting V one liners-- Not making either method more valued than the other, but explaining the difference and how to accommodate for both when you encounter them.

How to appropriately assess a scene before making your entrance-- No, I don't personally agree with being excluded from public scenes. HOWEVER, there is definitely a way to enter an already established scene and it is NOT bouncing in and saying hello only to realize you've stumbled into a scene where everyone's guns are drawn. It doesn't make sense and it seems to be more typical of newer players.

Emoting Classes-- Not everyone understands emoting when they start RPing and many could use to bump up their skill level.

Fighting RP-- How to wait your turn and take your hits!

Building Drama-- How to balance interesting storyline with realism.

Or any other topic people are willing/able to teach! I'd be more than willing to start working on this if we don't have something already and there are other interested parties. But please forgive me if I'm stepping on anyone's toes!
