Nadir TaovsaidWell, we enjoyed (did we?) 2 months of not being able to get the armed criminal title. Apparently, folks are starting to ignore that particular rule and using guns anyways. I'll have to go in-world and send a reminder out because if caught, they'd lose future chance of getting the role. I'm rather particular because no one can really make the claim, "I didn't know." It's the first question asked on the criminal app! Rather than taking this issue to RP Managers only, I wanted to ask the community as a whole. What are your take on guns? I personally don't mind them, but I think the community needs to step in and police itself on this particular topic. I think we've evolved to that point where we can. Here are things I can offer on my end: 1) You must be a member in an official CD group for at least 14 days (application system will automatically check and block anyone who's got an app approved under 14 days old or never submitted one at all since 12/01/08) 2) Rules to only allow hand guns (must be able to conceal) 3) Create separate application launcher somewhere in the city where they would basically go and apply for a gun permit -- possibly in the legal office at the station. Alternatively, for fun, I can put another launcher inside of Cassel Imports warehouse by some crates and can be a spot where criminals illegally (in RP) obtain weapons. Either way, it's something that someone will have to learn through RP only. 4) And of course, only perfect apps get an approval. 5) A roster of armed criminals will be made available to admins to check at any time. Things I need from you (the community): 1) If you see someone screwing up in RP or breaking rules (non-griefers), let them know OOCly. 2) If someone with an armed role has a gun and is consistently screwing up, despite letting them know the appropriate behavior, then log the incident(s) and send it to Stu Canning. This is very important and your ID will be kept anonymous. 3) If you DO have an armed criminal role, you are expected to follow the rules to the teeth. Furthermore, if you're shot, you must take the appropriate steps in RP to seek medical attention and stay visibly injured for X amount of days. This is something that would be regulated by the community itself. Who would want to RP with someone who didn't play fair, anyways? Feedback, comments? How's the RP been lately since the app system went up? Your thoughts on how we can regulate guns, realistically? (keeping in mind we see 500+ full applications a month now) |
