Is it me, or is there an increased activity in rape and sexual assault RP in the sim lately? In the last month, my avatars have been assaulted 4 times. Not full blown rape, but they have been assaulted. I am having trouble RPing the aftermath of such attacks and I am stuck. The way I see it, if Rippen is assaulted like that, she is going to strike back. Legally or otherwise. I will let it be known know that I, personally, see even the threat of rape to be a weapon, not something I get off on. If someone comes at me like that, I dont see it as a sexual encounter, I see it as a direct attack on my character and they will react accordingly. My characters are not going to just let their attacker take them and have their way with them, and if they are lucky enough to be successful, my attackers can expect my characters, and the people that care about them, to attack back. On another note, if an attacker decides to come after one of my avatars, and they are discovered in a dark alley by a passerby, I will whole heartedly allow that passerby to do what they can to stop the attack. If you think about it, what makes a rape... a rape? Clearly, one of the parties is NOT in agreement with the activity.
All I am saying is, use a little common sense when youre doing these things. Rape is a weapon. You cant expect to shoot someone you know, and it just go away, like it never happened. Dont think that my characters can be sexually assaulted, and their attacker can walk off as though it didnt happen. My characters, and the people that care about them, will strike back. Am I asking too much? Or should I go back to having "No Rape, No Kill" tattooed across my forehead/ profile? I know, The Crack Den is a forced fantasy sim. It started that way, and is still advertised as such today. But the rape thing is quickly going the way of the gun issue- "If you have it, you can use it." Not so, in my book...
