AnonymoussaidThe big question has been hassling me lately. You know what it is. No, it's not "is it all worth the living". It's: where are the public and costumer services? I know we have the garbage collecting system - though it's like a million dollars: you know they're out there, but you never saw them. But what about some regular jobs for the average Joe of Hathian? I'm talking about: - postal services (who wouldn't want to dress as a postman?); - banks; - construction; - electricity/gas/water/phone services (could actually be put in the same group, in a very scary monopoly), working in the sewers now and then, climbing ladders to fix phone boxes or reconnect wires; - supermarkets; - etc. I'm sure everyone has an idea of a job/role to add here. If we had a building for, let's see, the Town Council, it could have rooms for each service: mail, water & electricity, etc. Services like the mail system (which would actually be virtual, but could allow notecards to be sent by civil services, town council, etc. to the inhabitants' mailboxes) could then be lodged within the same building. I'm thinking of a "white house" for it all. Just a suggestion. |
