Niamh was a happy, healthy, albeit spoiled only child. Her family was wealthy, her future limitless. Then came the divorce. Mother vanished entirely from their lives but she still had Daddy who lavished her with attention to make up for the loss. Somewhat shy, Niamh turned to art, showing great promise even as a youngster. She was never a party girl, content with a small circle of friends and her father. Until he remarried.

Agnes, her new stepmother came with her own daughter, a narcissistic beast several years older. Mother and daughter turned Niamh’s life into a Cinderella existence when her father fell seriously ill. Niamh struggled through, trying to maintain her positive attitude as she entered college as a fine arts major. Even there, her sister continued to exert a malignant presence, turning people against her and sabotaging her efforts to succeed. Drugs and paraphernalia found in her dorm room led to her expulsion two months into her senior year. Then Daddy passed away.

Her step sister had since become a member of a shady but powerful law firm and managed to strip her of almost every penny of her inheritance bestowing the fortune on herself and her mother. Niamh was left with barely enough to survive. Life got very dark as she struggled to keep her head above water. Every time she managed to land a decent job, something would go wrong. She drifted further south trying to escape the tendrils of her diabolical stepsister, never understanding the basis for her unreasoning hate. Hathian was the end of the line. She managed to find a tiny apartment in a lousy part of town and hit the streets looking for legitimate work to support herself.
